Deonte Johnson (54) is standing out on defense.

I heard he's getting some 1st team reps but doubt he starts over Okereke and McFadden. But he jumps out on the screen. Nice undrafted FA find possibly.

I'm gonna hold Schoen to the fire a bit here

Drew Lock got signed for $5M

Joe Flacco signed with Indianapolis for 4.5m guaranteed

Jimmy G got even less.

What happened here?

We're better off just having Tommy at #2

2.8m salary. I would take a chance on Mac.

I am kinda upset about this

Lock was really bad. He was getting excellent protection too.

I would honestly would call for him to be cut but his contract is fully guaranteed...

Shane Bowen is a different defense that’s been #1 in rushing D last 3 years and red zone D not a joke either. His speed and tackling showed! Shane Bowen has showed if you don’t practice you not going to get inside position to start. That’s why Belton is starting right now. Johnson got a chance to start according to reports.

Belton has been starting right now because Nubin was hurt to start camp. Nubin looked pretty good in the 1st preseason game. But having 3 capable safties is a good thing.

Right Nubin wasn’t able to practice. McFadden is still hurt which is why Johnson been playing and has inside track. Maybe it’s just preseason talk to get guys to play hard. Nubin put a lineman on his @ss and looked very good! I think he starts.

I think our defense (assuming our #2 corner if that is McCould) can hold up should actually be really good. If KT shows up along with having one of the best edge guys in the game and we have the best interior DL in the game as well.

They should be dominant up front on defense...we used a lot of assets and capital to have that group dominate.

The fun part is the team is not finished building. We can use high draft picks on maybe a young OL or Corner next year or another DT. It’s coming together. Plus I think we will have money. Here is the article btw on Johnson.

At the end of the day we are building up the roster. But all will come down to the QB position. Schoen and Daboll know that. This is the best supporting cast DJ has had on offense and if they can keep him up right hopefully I think Daboll is going to throw the ball a lot this year. They brought in OL who are good pass blockers too (better than run blockers).

If they still feel handicapped at the QB position starting next year they can move on and try to then find there franchise QB. But at least the other areas are finally start to be built up with additional talent.

If the OL and DL stay healthy it will be a winning season. If not, things will get ugly fast.

Jones has sufficient talent to get the ball to Nabers and company if they can keep him upright. If the Big 3 on the D Line stay healthy, the defense should be pretty stout. If not, that secondary is gonna get torched and Jones could be exposed trying to play catch up.

Healthy lines = 10+ wins.
