In fairness to the Trumpy union head, his job is to strike at a moment when he maximum leverage in negotiations to get the extra wages for his members.

Sure, politics gets into this stuff, but it does benefit them to do this now.

I didn't realize presidents control the behavior of unions.

Clearly the country needs a stronger man as president to control them since they do.

Yeah, the administration could do Taft-Hartly...maybe they will.

Good time to strike though, as the Union has a lot of leverage.

IF Biden uses Taft-Hartley and forces them back, the dems will look anti worker, which will shave off some blue collar on the fence conservatives among that group and/or pro-labor dems (whichever ones still exist) or independents.

If Biden doesn't but the businesses decide to play hard ball with the union, then the economy slows down for a month before the election, and since American voters have the attention span and memories of goldfish, they'll suddenly run around going "OMG! ECONOMY BAD! GET ME MY DICTATOR IN HERE!"

So the business leaders could also have an interest in letting the economy take a hit.

Union leaders figure the business leaders like $ more than influence and settle. How long it takes means how much it might do the political work it may have been intended to do.

Also, good job by the union, as there job is to maximize leverage to get the highest wages for their workers, and this seems like that situation.

Not sure if this is under "Kamala's watch" but yeah, she is being dealt a tough hand; and i don't think Biden is doing her any favors. She will have to answer for all the crap that happened under Biden as POTUS.

I know Trump had to answer for all the fumbles and covid in 2020, but it was at least his doing. Kamala has a really tough upward battle, imho. She's expected to fix alot of these issues, but it still seems like things are under Biden's grip. He should have went ahead and retired. And Kamala's "campaigning" would just be her running the country.
