PG: Saved By The KAT

I mean this is debatable, without the Kat ridiculous fadeaway, couple 3 balls we don't win this game. KAT is equally important to this team as Brunson. One can also argue we are better off how the offense has been the last 2 games with it running through KAT, makes things easier to Brunson, he doesnt have to shoulder the load and can do what he does best in the 4th late.

I think the offense should still run through Brunson like it is. But just get KAT more FGs instead of looking to bait a foul like he was doing lot in Game 2.

Of course, this isn't all on Brunson but deals with Thibs and KAT as well.

I wouldn't say the offense was "running through KAT" on those miracle shots. Brunson and the Knicks in general were having trouble finding a good shot, and KAT (being 7 foot) was the only option and the Knicks best chance to get those FGs.

IMO Cade has some great looks on the last couple shots he took. I mean sure, OG prevented him from getting to the rim, but Cade made some nice step back moves to get himself open and just simply missed. Maybe my memory is off, but that's what I recall happening.

I prefer to acknowledge og covering space in a way that defies the laws of physics and that his presence is so intimidating to other players that they fold in pressure situations. But I'm just a realist so I fail to see in the abstract.

On the Pistons board there are some posters debating that Harris is a more valuable piece than OG

There is a strong argument Harris has been one of the Knicks most important players

Who doesn't like Jalen Brunson on this forum? Prophet had some beef which turned out to be a proxy pro-Thibs argument and he was roasted for it. I can't think of anyone else.

JB did force in Game 2 which people didn't like and he has since course corrected on that. Happens.

Neither one of those clutch shots were actually good shot attempts. He just happened to make them. That had absolutely nothing to do with running the offense through KAT.

I will say that we need to run different looks and should utilize KATs passing more than we do. Thibs doesn't have a clue how to run an offense. He thinks defense leads to offense and that's where he fails. You need to run plays and put players in their best position to succeed. Impose your will as opposed to the BS game tells you what to do approach.

Just watched the 4th quarter in it's entirely again. Last offensive possession for the Knicks after Schroeder taps the ball out, Knicks have 4 seconds left on the shot clock. Not a single player looks over at the bench. There is not even an attempt to ask Thibs what to do. JB first goes to inbound the ball, the players talk it over and then decide Mikal should inbound the ball. They setup a beautiful curl play to get JB free driving to the hoop. I know they practice these players during practice but the fact they didn't want or need any type of direction or confirmation from Thibs speaks volumes.

Am I reading too much into this or does this reiterate the fact that Thibs sucks at in game situations and his own players don't even trust his guidance?!

It could mean they are cpmpletely prepared. You lnow the best prepared coach just has to sit there and watch it unfold. If you're unprepared you have to be constantly barking and involving yourself.
