Mitchs contest on the Tatum switch at the end of regulation was clutch. He didnt get worked on the step back and forced Tatum into a difficult shot.

Seriously...we have a punchers chance. I'm here for it because we can go metal bats if we have to and, pull off the upset. Winning game one on the road is as huge as it gets! 78% chance we are in the ECF if history holds up. I gave us no chance leading up to this game.
i said welcome back... then you went hammer. and i just used gifs to express my confusion.
you kinda had a whole convo with yourself there.
and i'm sorry for poking.
mf you told me to close my legs unprovoked.there's a version of me that would have met that energy. fortunately, i have found thibslam.
:kol: don't apologize. I was sulking like a bytch! I own it. I deserved the poking!! *PAUSE*

he went small for 2 minutes and we got killed and then we got killed again during those precious minutes. mitch was only -3 at halftime. it was the minutes without him or kat that made things start going bad.
Mitch and KAT are 10 levels above whoever else we have at the 5.
They're both elite at certain aspects of the game. It can't be undervalued.
Just seeing the spacing we had with KAT on the floor is insane, if you just take a step back and look at the film.
Mitch is very limited offensively but he's a monster in key areas of the game. They're just seldom talked about.
Hukporti may come along but for now you're right. We got absolutely smoked in the Precious minutes.

Hukporti hasn’t even played since the torn meniscus. He’s on the bench but does anybody know if he can play? I’d almost run him out there over Precious for a few emergency spot minutes in cases of towns foul trouble or Mitch hacking. Their size with KP Kornet Horford is tough and they’re getting too many rebounds. I don’t see that Precious is going to be impactful

He's got to find his lane and maybe that's just hitting open 3's, the occasional post-up, acting as a decoy, and then killing them on the offensive boards. Maybe that's all he needs to focus on while playing competent defense and we can win this thing.
Come on, KAT... rise to the occasion.
he's doing a lot more dirty work and staying down on defense. (and fighting officiating.)
he's probably not gonna put up those numbers you looking for, but i hope you can appreciate his gangsta right now.
I appreciate his dirty work and I don't expect massive numbers from him but I do expect him to do better staying out of foul trouble. Almost cost us the game in the 1st half. He's gotta be better because he's a problem for them in the paint and one of our biggest mismatches on offense that can lead to high percentage shots or open three's.

It’s not about figuring anything out other than when to play with playoff intensity and when it isn’t that important. We played the season wearing weighted armor now we took it off and going all out

I reconciled my past before the game started. Guns blazing before tip off with fuq Boston and all the rest. Your homer approach doesn't work for me but, I usually have more faith in letting the games play out. I try to remain positive. There really was NOTHING that warranted that from anyone. Are we to believe the Pistons are better than Boston at this point? I'll pump those brakes but, that series seems to have toughened us up a little bit.
Boston was caught napping or are we good enough to beat them in a series? That's what we will find out obviously. I'm here for it.

Precious can be impactful in this series though his confidence might be completely shot. He's switchable, plays solid defense, and can rebound. His problem is when he tries to be a playmaker on offense. I think if Mitch can't figure out his free throw woes soon, Precious gets the minutes.

No homer approach man, just truly believe we had a gear we didn't kick into all year, Detroit is physical as hell, Celtics don't want that type of smoke, Tatum complaining how physical game 1 was, was like a preseason game.

correct we might need to adjust a bit and have Mitch come in the game before we get in the bonus.
This is what I suggested a few pages back, play him the beginning of the 2nd and 4th quarters until the Celtics get 4 fouls, I'd even have him start the 3rd quarter until they get the 4th foul.
It doesn't matter really how the mins get distributed as much as that he can get his mins in without it being too much a liability due to the hack-a-tactic.

It's really funny that the Celtics were complaining that game 1 was overly physical. That was an early regular season game for us, especially after Detroit![]()
The Knicks want to play a more finesse game, but like Hart said, we can still carry a big stick when needed. We'll find out if Boston has that gear.
The Magic tested them physically, but the Magic don't have the talent to back it up. We have the 1-2 punch If we're playing with focus and purpose.
To be fair, Tatum wasn't actually complaining. It was the reporters. But it's definitely more physical than he'd like and that's in Boston

I don’t see why his confidence would be shot he’s always been a stay ready for an opportunity kind of guy even last year he wasn’t playing much until Mitch got hurt against Philadelphia and then had to play more so he should understand his role as a 3rd string backup in the nba his minutes could come at any time

Those were the hack a Mitch minutes we let the lead get away and, he shouldn't be out there with Mitch ever. That BS hack plan worked for a few minutes and the lead ballooned as a result. It wasn't on Precious. You can't have two or all three of Hart/Precious/Mitch on the floor together for any stretch.

Guarding on the perimeter is what made Mitch special his first 2 years. He gained weight to become a true interior defender, so people forget that certain instincts might still be there.

When nothing happens to suggest otherwise, that's a homer approach. Just believe man. Peace love and hair grease bro. We struggled to beat DET and haven't beaten a top opponent all season. We were embarrassed in most of those games. Another level we haven't seen? Boston is just human. Expecting this win was as homer as it gets brother. FTR I don't use the term as an insult. It's better to be a homer than a hater by far.
