I honestly think he's right this time. A lot of people in the league and reporters not assigned to espn spin machine are saying melo is signing to ny, Pau is signing, and bron is a possibility if the Knicks can clear cap in next 7 days.

That would be pretty fair but I dont know if Knicks would get McD who was obviously the Bulls 2014 pick, and give up 15' and 17'. That's a lot of firsts to give up plus Mirotic who was a first rounder and would have been a way higher pick if not for his buyout and the rumor he only wanted a major market to play in.

taking back JR and Prigs is great for the Knicks for next year but Bulls probably wouldn't have to give up that much guys if the Knicks are making the Bulls take on 2 more players w/ contracts running through next season too.

Woj confirmed it. Tommy Beer pointed out that it could possibly be a leak from Leon Rose, Melo's representation to force the Knicks hand into formally offering the Max or a S&T.

No. We always needed to take Boozer back. And will. Dunleavy too. Not sure if it works under the CBA.

Put it this way, I dont think Bulls have a chance anymore, but in the context of our convo here, Knicks more likely would get one of McD or Mirotic plus 15' and 17'. Bulls would have to throw in those unguranteed contracts too for 4 mil which would help the knicks clear that space immediately by cutting those players.

We won 37 games with Melo. If we still win 37 games without Melo then he probably wasn't worth signing anyway.

I don't see the doom and gloom if Melo leaves. Sure, it'll be a loss. But its not like the Knicks have been great with him. One playoff series win in 3 years just isn't going to make me shed tears if he leaves. The east was really bad last year and we couldn't even get into the playoffs. Not blaming Melo, but the team had a lot of problems.

Starting over really isn't the worst thing as long as we do it right. ( and patience is a key)

What are your realistic expectations of when Melo and his camp reveal his decision?
