There's a line though.

San Antonio, no doubt blatantly tanked for Tim Duncan. They did not continue to do so. Yes they had some talent around them. Not the talent they would win with though. They developed Tony Parker, Manu Ginobli , got role players. They were ahead of the curve regarding international players and it paid off.

Philly to the other extreme has been tanking for the longest time, and still are not where they need to be.

We have Porzingas now. We have that rare top talent.

The Tank is usually fools gold. Like Herm Edwards said....

Hello, you play to win the game.

There are many ways to build this thing. The main thing is not squandering assets. That's the only thing that can prevent us from moving forward, finally

Idk about that.

We have a pretty good inkling. As much as 90% of future allstars had in their 3rd year.

its a number game I simply don't want him taking shots away from KP, WHG, and THjr.

Yeah, it's not about him being a "good player" or not. He's never going to really take a back seat. He's never going to come in and play that J-Kidd role like Kidd played for him, no matter his age. He's not that kind of player and person. That's not his game. He's got nothing to offer but scoring and the way he scores is mostly one-on-one.

It doesn't have to be personal. Nobody has to come running to defend this guy here. This is all very simple: with the amount of young talent the team is starting to accumulate, the heights they want and expect KP to reach, and what they want to accomplish this season with the development of these players and possibly a chance at another lottery pick.... it is so very obvious that Melo needs to be removed from this team, and it's naive to think that he can still fit in or help any sort of long term agenda, and very naive to think he would even want to do that in any capacity. Melo is over New York.

God's speed, Steve Mills.

Maybe it's naive to expect him to fit in but I do think even at this stage of the game one could give him the benefit of the doubt, give Melo a chance to be the good soldier, and not have it be all about him. I want to believe that he bears the Knicks no ill will and understands that the dysfunction he has experienced is behind him and that the only source of dysfunction this season would in fact be coming from him, something that I want to believe he doesn't have in him. I want to believe that he'll be content to have his minutes limited until the right deal for the Knicks presents itself.

He has said some really dumb things during his time here, and made some dumb decisions, and doesn't seem interested in shouldering any responsibility, but I don't see malice in any of that. It seems that you do, though-- and in my opinion that's a little unfair.

I can buy into this line of thinking. I just don't see him changing much at all. If he plays SF the way we would want a young SF to play with the current roster....I see no problem. That ultimately falls on him and Jeff.

My wanting him gone is partially based on the fact that I don't see him doing it. I should hold that judgment until I see what happens.

I just hate the drama that has surrounded this guy since he's here. I hate the extremist stans/bashers that go with it. I just want this new direction to be with a clean slate. It is in the best interests of the team. That's all I care about. I have never been this close to a rebuild in 33 years of being a fan. I want it so bad and this just needs to happen. The superfriends version of the NBA makes it the perfect time! Timing has always been an issue with this team.

Just let it happen! Please! No distractions!

Carmelo Anthony still hasn't missed a shot. What's the Guinness record? That old white guy with the crazy form has the record for most consecutive makes, right? Carmelo might break it.

See the issue is with is about 90% of the people posting there know crap and pretend to know more then do. posting your thoughts based on seeing someone play 2 or 3 times does not make you know more about player x then layer y. That is what you see here. People saying Kat or embid are better xxxx but then watch KP twice and say he is not good...
I can tell you kat is great embid has issues staying healthy but I see KP about 50 times per yr and ca say he has work but does not pose the health issue has more range can move defensively and is a willing player that is half of it. He is a better off the ball blocker and offensive rebounder then Embid and quite possibly KAT

90% know crap so let's go to Knicks board where everyone knows everything.

So you say their opinion is invalid relative to yours considering you watch more Knicks games, however you follow by giving your opinion of 2 non-Knicks players. Logic fail.

They could say the same about you.

I understand trying to defend your team/position however why post with a complete disregard for logic or thought.

those guys have takin over games on a more consistent basis. KP has a good game evry now and then, but is much more inconsistent. yes hes healthier then Embidd , but has a long way to prove hes a better overall player when both are healthy. comparing him to KAT right now, 32/32 GM's take KAT.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Can we get KP a real PG before we judge where he stands amongst the best young bigs in this league? He's this good and his PGs have been Failderon and Blinders.

I wish there was a way we could turn Melo into OG Anunoby via 3-way trade.

He's been playing behind melo's shadow. So before we determine if he's good or not lets see how he does when its all about him.
