Crazy how KD’s injury caused such a domino effect on the Knicks and the Lakers. Healthy KD would be really intriguing to Kawhi on the Knicks.

Wise move by the Nets too.
They’re not so sure they’re getting Kyrie & KD.
If all else fails, they can keep DLo and sign other pieces.

He was never coming to the knicks come on. KD versus Lebron and AD. NY vs. LA. Hes from southern California and even if he wasn't whos picking NY over LA as a NBA player.

I dunno whether to be excited at the prospect of signing KD or depressed. It will be the most empty feeling ever if that headline happens. It's not a given we get any closer to a chip with him coming off that injury being in his 30s.. And a bunch of ways it can go wrong having him as a MAX but on the decline/not MAX worthy

Honestly, it's what they should be focusing on instead of trying to one up the Knicks.
New York teams always gotta fall into the same trap.

S*hit could be so dumb sometimes.
Would be nice if we got the same "luck" that the Lakers did, but we don't. Play the hands you are dealt

Yeah, right. I'd rather wait a year and spend the max on Draymond Green.

Be excited bro. Perception means alot, and even an I hired kd choosing Knicks over GS or elsewhere signifies that players and just not reg players. Hall of fame caliber players still in their prime are viewing this team as an actual destination now. Good FO, good young pieces. Perception is key in this KD acquisition.DaGawd wrote:I dunno whether to be excited at the prospect of signing KD or depressed. It will be the most empty feeling ever if that headline happens. It changes the narrative for this season and future ones.

Honestly man, it's about the culture change. If KD comes back a shell, it's worth it if he brings about changing the culture and the narrative of free agency on the Knicks. It has to start somewhere. We can't keep tanking and winning 20 games a year for the foreseeable future and hope to change our losing culture. It just can't continue that way. I hope we sign both KD and Kyrie, it changes everything for us immediately. We must change the way we are viewed for anything to change. If we don't get either, I don't mind signing guys like DLo and Randle. We put out a competitive team, a good young hungry team that makes some noise and shows that we are not longer losers. This chip or bust mentality gotta go, it's desperation.

Exactly.
I'd rather we get exposed to ridicule because we missed out on KD than the KD signing turns into a disaster and creates even more dysfunction.
SAS can scream all he wants because he's desperate for a "name", I don't care.

Would DeAngelo be able to sign a max with an opt out after year one? That would be an interesting offer sheet.

If the Knicks get KD, they will get bashed by the media. If KD signs with any other team, the Knicks will be the first team called out as losers for not being able to get him.

Stein is legit. Looks like the Knicks are dodging one bullet with Kyrie. Hopefully KD is the next.

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it

Kawhi signing with the Lakers would ruin the league.

Wasn't my point my man. I want KD. But you cant deny all of this probably won't matter if The Lakers land Kawhi. It'll be the Warriors on steroids for the foreseeable future.
This league is just broken and has been for a long time now. So when you realize that, things like our "KD watch" seems almost irrelevant. At least to me.

The only reason we're not a draw is because we've been so bad for so long.
We build through the draft and when one or two of our young guys turn into All-Stars, everyone around the league will seriously consider NY as a FA destination. We just need to make sound decisions in the draft and keep some flexibility moving forward and things will take care of themselves. The Knicks are almost as big if not as big as the Lakers when they're good. We just forgot what it feels like.
