It's like you have no idea what you're watching. Josh had a 93.9 ORTG in that game, Mitch had a 102.5 ORTG. You were told of an adjustment they could try, and you're saying why bother because he didn't score, even though the offense ran better with him on the floor than it did with Josh. Nevermind it stops them from getting second chances, or gives us second chances or that we'd be bigger than them since our starting 5 is smaller and less athletic.

I could explain in depth, but it's pointles, you're really saying the Pistons are more talented and there's nothing we can do, what a joke.

I said we need more consistent scoring options than Brunson. Mikal is bricking wide open threes and KAT is too shook to take a shot. Soft players man

Your adjustment is "Make more shots" without understanding ways of actually generating those shots  .

So the Pistons have more talent, got it.

Over the first two games of this series,
Brunson has passed the ball to Towns a total of 12 times. TOTAL.

Per NBA tracking data, passes from Brunson to each teammate:
Passes to Bridges: 38
Passes to Hart: 32
Passes to KAT: 12

In contrast, over a 25-game stretch from end of October thru Christmas:
Brunson passed to KAT an average of 13.5 times per game. Towns dished Brunson 14.9 times per contest. Towns tortured teams with pick-and-pop jumpers if defenders dropped and gave KAT airspace.

During that above-referenced 25-game span, Towns averaged 4.6 catch-and-shoot FGA per game.
Over the first two vs. DET, Towns has made ONE catch and shoot jumper.

I will say that Cade is proving that he can’t be guarded in one on one. So even tho Knicks have better players overall, we don’t have a guy like that on the Knicks.

We have run 10 picks per game by KAT for Brunson, Kevin Porter Jr and Bobby Portis run 13 per game, Murray and Jokic run 35 times per game.

Thibs with the coaching clinic lol

Knicks should put an empty chair where Thibs usually stands. Maybe the chair can talk to JB about getting the ball to KAT

Since I still have a minute, if you’re the coaching staff, you can’t even draw up one crazy new play to try to get KAT the ball? Something out of the blue to mix it up.

What, they take themselves too seriously? Like Brunson throwing a bounce pass to KAT between his legs and KAT launching a 3?

Something, anything. Make the team laugh. Not one new idea?

Yeah they’re very serious about their job and basketball has to be played one way … because basketball is so so srs and JB is just the whole team. Let’s not upset him.

One crazy ass idea for sh_ts and giggles. Nothing. Let’s not interfere with OG aimlessly looking around for someone to pass to. Or that contested fadeaway from Brunson in the second quarter.

Let’s be very professional and somber about playing and planning with zero guts.

People gonna hate me for this but Trae Young would look real nice on this team instead of Brunson. He would probably easily average 15 assists a game.

The KAT/Trae pick/roll & pick/pop would be unstoppable. It's probably what the FO had envisioned would happen with KAT/Brunson but Thibs never really uses it the way it's meant to be used. Brunson just uses the screen to get free or switch defenders.

Cade has been outstanding. I thought he was on the RJ path earlier in his career but he took a huge leap this season.

A new coach will fix that. People call Mike Malone a Thibs clone (which I don’t understand) but even he’d be a far better option than Thibs.

Dude won a title with weaker defenders at the same positions which people here say can’t be done, and he allowed their two man game to flourish.

Not to mention he allowed Joker to become his best self… we know damn well that dude would look more like Cole Aldrich had he been brought up under Thibs… we see how he’s always limited KAT’s offensive game.

I’d prefer an unknown, but dunno if I trust Leon to find the right guy.

Mikal wide open three in rhythm from a great play. How much more open does he need to be?

Does anyone have a video link of Bridges 4 missed shots in the final 4 minutes?

Fournier and Walker were the big free agent signings of 2021. Kemba was benched after a few months. Fournier was benched a year later. Evan's bloated contract rotted on the bench for a couple years.

They traded a protected 1st for Reddish. Thibs didn't even attempt to play him until year 2.

Obi was a lottery pick and Sam Rose's client. He and Thibs clearly had issues.

Grimes was supposed to be the 2 guard of the future and was untouchable in a potential Donovan Mitchell package. He was eventually benched and traded.

He played Payne over Bridges in Game 1 in the 4th. He said he played Mitch over KAT in the first half of game 2 because Mitch was the only one rebounding.

How can you pretend Thibs is in danger of losing his job by simply cutting a player's minutes when he has done it many times before from lottery picks to big free agent signings?

It's impossible to explain Thibs' decision making since it doesn't make sense sometimes. We just won a game in large part because of Payne's contribution in the 4th quarter of game 1. In game 2 Thibs gave him a DNP in the 2nd half after the shortened rotation scored 18 points in the 3rd quarter and he decided to stick with it the entire 2nd half. Something that succeeded in game 1 he did not even attempt for a single minute in game 2. Why?
Because Payne was a foul machine in the first half. 4 fouls and he wasn't hot. 1 year contract guy. Adios. Note that doesn't happen ever to KAT, JB, Hart, Deuce, Mitch or OG. Too.much money. Too much influence.

Fournier and Walker were on multi year deals as the starting 1 and 2 when Thibs removed them from the rotation.

He cut Donte's minutes as the "starting 2 guard/Nova guy/4 year contract" throughout the Sixer's series last postseason. He gave Mitch extended minutes over iHart at times. No one was calling for Thibs' head because of those moves and it had nothing to do with expiring contracts.

The only 2 guys that have played a ton of minutes during Thibs tenure no matter what that I can think of are Hart and Randle who happen to be 2 of the more emotional guys. That seems less about politics and more about managing personalities. I don't think Randle or Hart had the power to get Thibs fired.

Brunson might have that power but he is not playing a ton of minutes now because of politics. He is playing a ton of minutes because he is Thibs entire offense under pressure. He didn't shorten the rotation in the 2nd half to appease certain players. That was his go to solution throughout the year. He simply lacks trust in the bench.
