Kid has real nose for the ball, he could have done so much damage for us with that defense. He and Shumpert?? Blistering damage!! Damn mang

Watch out for Lin after All Star break, my prediction: 14ppg, 8apg, 5rpg, 3spg.

he has a knack for the ball
but his one on one man defense is awful, he gets taken to the cleaners frequently

Yeah that aspect is pretty awful.

Now watching pgs man to man defense.....watch Mike Conley or Chris Paul.

no. He is dead serious. He was rooting for Lin to drop 45 on us last month. He is not a real Knick fan.

ROFL @ 3 steals per game and 8 assists average. GID always comes out of hiding whenever Lin has his one decent game per month and proceeds to exaggerate his abilities. Lame.

Reggie Evans is upset...

But when Memphis coach Lionel Hollins opted to send starting center Marc Gasol back into the game with the Grizzlies holding a 20-point lead with less than four minutes left, Evans couldn’t take it any more. He rose up off the bench and yelled over to Gasol several times while Gasol stood at the scorer’s table waiting to check in.

“That was the point where I was like, ‘Wow’…I was real shocked to see him come back in,” Evans said. “I guess it is what it is.”
“We’re pretty much putting our subs in the game, and just to see you putting him in the game,” Evans said. “You’ve got Rudy and Zach still in the game. You still got Conley in the game and then you’re going to put [Gasol] in the game? It’s like, ‘Are you serious?….I’m kind of shocked, you know what I’m saying? It is what it is, but you can’t do nothing but respect it. It won’t be forgotten, though.”

Lin would have to put up some "linsanity" averages pretty much from this point forward to get those averages.

Unrealistic, Gallo situation 2.0

Jeremy Lin Points per possession in Isolation situations .75 (88th), Chris Paul .98 (189th), Mike Conley .57 (19th), Ray Felton .97 (185th).

If Lin is an awful man to man defender than Felton and Paul are atrocious and Conley is super human.

 So you only use stats when they're convenient for you... when they're not convenient for your argument they don't beat the "eye test".

So if I come on here and say I think, by what I've seen, Lin's play is more important to the Rockets winning than Chandler Parsons... and you rattle off PER and WS to "prove" otherwise it's okay right?

You know what we call that right? A contradiction.

I've watched a lot or Rockets games.. and Lin doesn't get lit up nightly.. I saw him make Kyire Irvings night miserable.. and he was one of the only players I've seen slow down Russell westbrook.

I may "deflect" if that's what you want to call it but you've been contradicting your very existence on this forum since the summer.

Who's using the word "deflect"? I contradict nothing, I stand by my position always and never hide.

Certainly dont need stats to know Lin is not even an average defender, he's below, and I like Lin.

The stats only solidify the point, why not use drtg?

But as expected, feel free to make it personal, as usual.

As far as the summer goes, lets see...didn't want Nash, and look superb in that call.

Knew the team wouldn't miss Lin and they dont.

Feel free to address viewpoint, but making it personal...no go bro.

Wouldn't go that far. Although I'm not putting stock in any stats that show Lin as a better man defender then Chris Paul.

I've never heard of Chris Paul being benched by a coach because of defense to close out games. And his assignment was Nate Robinson for godsakes and now he can slow down Westbrook? Excuse me?

I thought he did good in the first game, which is all you could ask, but the second one, Westbrook was flirting with a triple double in 30 minutes of action, one of his best games of the season...Toney Douglas played better in that one.

Both were blowouts anyway, so it's moot.

Which gives me pause as to wether Lin actually slowed down Westbrook or he just had an off night. I tend to think it was the later which isn't a knock on Lin seeing as Westbrook is un-guarable on most nights.

Depends on how you look at it, I usually give the nod to the defender in those cases.
