Frank is like Felipe Lopez. Some thought he was the next Jordan. Others thought he wasnt anything. Hopefully he doesn't turn out to be another Felipe Lopez.

i'm not allowing it or not. i'm just amazed that frank is still discussed as if he's the biggest issue on the team. because he's not close to that. but you wouldn't know that from the amount of discussion he produces. we're not constantly debating other players in this manner. for whatever reason, this is the most polarizing topic on here.

Makes sense to me. He's a lotto pick who hasn't turned into Jordan yet.

Are you seriously saying people are upset because he hasn't lived up to Jordan? Such disingenuous arguments made.

Nah, that was just a bit of sarcasm on my part. My point is that we picked him in the lotto (which comes with expectations), he hasn't proved himself in the league yet (which leads to disappointment), and so naturally he's being talked about a lot on this board. It's not really an indictment on anyone. We're Knicks fans posting on a Knicks fan forum. The hell else are we gonna do?

Yep. Folks were calling him the Dominican Michael Jordan. He just couldn’t shoot a lick.

Can we all just agree that Frank has some rare physical gifts? He's been groomed so far as a guard, but one with ridiculous reach, big hands, really wide shoulders, and an impressive frame in general (which he seems to be filling out nicely). There was always the potential that he would even grow a couple more inches since he was drafted, and he may have by now.

I think this is the biggest reason some of us have so much hope for him. He's not just a run of the mill draft pick with no offensive ability. His body gives him the chance to grow into something special, or at least very useful at his position. It's the reason he drew comparisons to Giannis during the draft. Add to that: his defensive ability is absolutely there already, and we New Yorkers like defense.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone here that we have an official Frank Ntilikina thread tracking his progress after 2 seasons.

The Frank threads are all pages of he's a bust...no he's not. Hard to track progress that hasn't happened. Either be patient...or not. That's the choice. I'll be patient. There's potential there but...whatever.

the problem is that he was always going to be a 2-3 project because of his age and how he needed to be developed. Also its been a uphill battle since day 1 because the guy that drafted him that saw value in his game was gone right after the draft. So guys that were not part of scouting him and investing a lottery pick in him aren't here. I'm sure the rest of the organization doesn't feel the need to invest him him like there own drafted players.

However, they should see the value in his game if he does develop a league average 3. He has a pretty unique body type and potential skill set to play alongside a few of our young players (RJ and Mitch) specifically.

Frank's decisiveness this quarter is really what I want to see him develop. It wasn't just on the three's that he showed no hesitation and the results were good for everybody. If this mindset sticks, I think everything else just starts clicking.
