So Southwest Airlines just canceled over 1,000 flights. The airlines says it’s due to “inclement” weather along with “staffing shortages” but others are saying that it has more to do with pilots who don’t want to take the vaccine.

What I don’t get is, isn’t it “pro business” to get everyone vaccinated so that we can open up again. If everyone had just done the right thing I the beginning, we wouldn’t be struggling like we are now.

I hope Kyrie Irving is the last player off the bench on away games, then retires from basketball.
I'm glad all healthcare workers and school employees in NYC are vaxed.
I'm fine with pilots leaving their careers behind if that's how little they care about others.

People can choose what they want to do and not do, but I don't grant them the right to knowingly endanger others. You wanna get drunk? Don't drive. You wanna get COVID? Stay away.

The widespread disruptions began shortly after the union for its pilots asked a federal court to block the airline’s order that all employees get vaccinated against COVID-19. The union said it doesn’t oppose vaccination, but it argued in a filing Friday that Southwest must negotiate before taking such a step.

Maybe some of those pilots are actually vaccinated but just like to support the idea that the airline can't make them do it, without paying them more? This would be interesting to learn, if possible.

I’d be surprised if the CBA didn’t have a general “fitness” clause that would cover this. But who knows? You raise a good point.

Yesterday I went into a chinese buffet masked up and all of the booths on the sides were full so I chose a center table as far away from other people as I could arrange. The waitress said I could not sit there because it was a group table even though they were just small tables pushed together like every other table. She pointed at a table that was three feet from a booth with occupants.

It was full of people I had to assume were unvaccinated simply because the place does attract their profile. I was not going to chow down three feet from any of them so I walked out. There was not a mask seen anywhere in this place with at least 60 people in it.

As I left one guy started mocking me by going “Oooooooo. Oooooo.” I was already in a bit of a mood when I had entered the restaurant and I was not in a better one then. But I kept going, because if I had turned around and confronted this creep it would have likely turned the whole place upside down.

There’s bad behavior everywhere these days. If you go mano a mano with some of the crap you will encounter it rarely goes well. The guy in that video looks deranged. The odds of crossing paths with deranged individuals these days have certainly gone up. It’s a mental health crisis for sure.

Some of those countries have a much older population. You need to adjust for age.

During this Summer I noticed a heavy uptick in black people wearing masks while shopping. I mean a significant increase and many times they were fully masked up while maybe half of the whites were not.

And I earlier posted about an Albanian guy (there's a good number of them here Wingo) was telling me it was the blacks who were spreading covid. Before I told him to STFU and GTFO because he was a racist punk moron I asked him if that were the case why are more black folks masking up than white folks. He sputtered some BS and then tailed it to his car and took off.

Anyway, it makes sense to me to see this kind of report, because I did see a real shift in that racial demographic when it came to masking up.

Many eastern European men are attracted to strongman mentality. It's a sign of machismo to them. I remember being told of an Albanian custom (don't know if it's still followed, I hope not) where when a newborn male child is born, they put a gun under this pillow so that he'll grow up to be a strong man. Yup.

Internet's biggest sin is that it made people think they can be experts at anything by doing solo researches (a.k.a google clicks).

20-30 years ago we were told to get a vaccine against chickenpox and some other **** I don't even remember. Everyone did it. No one questioned. And we were fine.
