Hart has a +3.3 net rating so far this season.

Cut and paste generic veteran role playing starter at SG for a Knicks team pretending to be a regular-season contender. I agree Hart is a nice player, but let's not pretend Leon didn't send out 2 FRPs to get him, not to mention likely benching his last two FRPs (Grimes/Deuce) to play him, not to mention an expensive role-playing (French) free-agent SG collecting dust on the bench.

The MSG role player show rolls on.

McBride is probably out of the rotation again but I don't see how this affects grimes? Thibs isn't weird with him like he is with IQ. They still need everything Grimes brings as an undersized team on the wings.

i like the move but that's hilarious, totally thought of lee too! One thing i'd say is lee was kinda at the tail end of his career even tho he played 30 MPG for us. I'd also like to see hart come off the bench and leave the starters intact.

Courtney Lee could shoot. Well. Josh Hart can't.

I don't get the comparison at all.

Grimes will play, Deuce is a 2nd rounder. Try again.

By the way, what’s the over/under on Josh Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein doing a Valentine’s Day bit for the Knicks?

Nitpicky m'fer, love you.

I don't recall the exact trade history of how we ended up with Grimes and Deuce, but I do recall typical MSG shenanigans afoot where I thought maybe they traded down and out of the first round, so let me clarify---

Everything I said is true -- Deuce will be out and Grimes (Leon's last 2 draft picks) will likely go to the bench and see his opportunities reduced. You got me on the trutherism that Deuce was a 2RP. Bravo!

You don't agree with me, and that's okay but Josh Hart to me and apparently others is reminiscent of many other generic veteran role-playing SGs of recent Knicks past.

Incoming Thibs 8.5-man rotation w/minimal threes and maximum rim protection:

Mitch | Hartenstein
Randle | Obi
RJ
Hart |Grimes
Brunson | IQ

Everything points to Josh Hart being a two team trade. I think the confusion might be because Svi Mykhailiuk is being rerouted to Charlotte as part of the Thybulle trade. That doesn't impact the Hart trade though.

Do you think they will have a Hart-to-Hart conversation? :)

I was there when Shandon Anderson played for the Knicks. I watched Shandon Anderson play basketball for the Knicks. Josh Hart is no Shandon Anderson.

Doesn't work that way. At the least, they exchanged that trail for Hart, who was also a 1st rounder, so -1

=2

Then Atl used 2 picks to get Murray while the Knicks used 2 to get Hart...

This KNICKS trade was 4-TEAM TRADE:

Knicks, Blazers, Sixers, Hornets Officially Complete Four-Team Trade
February 9th 2023 at 10:47pm CST by Luke Adams

The Knicks, Trail Blazers, Sixers, and Hornets have folded two separate trade agreements into a single four-team trade, with press releases from New York and Portland confirming that the deal is official.

The trade combines the Knicks’ acquisition of Josh Hart from Portland with the three-team trade agreement that sends Matisse Thybulle to the Blazers and Jalen McDaniels to the 76ers. Kyle Neubeck of PhillyVoice first reported (via Twitter) that the two deals would be combined into one.

Here are the full terms of the trade:

Knicks acquire Josh Hart, the draft rights to Bojan Dubljevic (from Trail Blazers), and the draft rights to Daniel Diez (from Trail Blazers).

Trail Blazers acquire Matisse Thybulle, Cam Reddish, Ryan Arcidiacono, the Knicks’ 2023 first-round pick (top-14 protected), and the draft rights to Ante Tomic (from Knicks).

Sixers acquire Jalen McDaniels, the Knicks’ 2024 second-round pick (from Hornets), and the Trail Blazers’ 2029 second-round pick.

Hornets acquire Svi Mykhailiuk, either the Hornets’, Hawks’, or Nets’ 2023 second-round pick (whichever is most favorable; from Sixers), and either the Pelicans’ or Trail Blazers’ 2027 second-round pick (whichever is most favorable; from Trail Blazers).

Wait...so Morey trades Thybulle for McDaniels and a second rounder? Yet Rose has to cough up a 1st to get Hart....

Morey still a genius and Rose a dumbass.

Thybulle was second team all-defense the last two years.
I think you can criticize Rose for trading for Cam in the first place, but you can’t compare the values of Thybulle and Cam at all.

I didn't compare them....I pointed to how Morey gets draft assets and Rose squanders them, maybe you missed that.
