Sometimes Aaron Judge is too good. He gets on these long ass hot streaks where he can carry an offense and that allows the FO and owner not to spend the resources needed to give him the reinforcements he deserves

Extras = automatic loss.

There's something getting exposed there..

Since 2020 when they added the free base runner:
Worst in the majors on the road in extra innings. 13-27 or something like that.
Best in the majors at home in extra innings. 27-13 or something like that

Since I refuse to watch a single game this season here's my future prediction:

Yankees get eliminated by Houston or Detroit in the playoffs.
The hitting coach once again becomes the fall guy for Cashman's inability to build an effective offense.
The hitters in our lineup next season continue to follow the franchise's same 2010 playbook.
Rinse and repeat.

It's so easy to spot out what's wrong. Winning in extras requires situational hitting, something that this organization doesn't deem important. When your GM, analytics team, manager and coaching staff is encouraging hitters to swing out of their shoes failure to do something so fundamental like move a runner over, hit a sac fly or get a base hit comes as no surprise.

What do Hal and Cashman prioritize? It sure as hell isn't constructing a team who could actually hit in the clutch. What they really care about is whether Aaron Judge hits 60 plus bombs in the regular season, solo homeruns that put fans in the seats, meaningless blowouts against bottom feeding opponents and a team that is just good enough to make the postseason but incompetent enough to win a title.

Teams by default usually perform better at home than on the road, yet a team with a $288 million dollar payroll having the worst extra inning record on the road is beyond unacceptable.

Forget the World Series this isn't even a good regular season team anymore, and that's with better starting pitching.

2019 is the last time we were a solid regular season team. We did get lucky that we faced Cleveland last year with Soto in a contract season, and that's fine we took advantage of our opportunity to get there.

I won't kill Cashman for not bringing back Soto he wasn't turning down a billion from the Mets. The flaws in our team are mental and they're not gonna simply be fixed at the deadline. It's the team structure that has failed.

I'm gonna say this too: Jazz needs to grow up and stop getting himself kicked out for arguing calls. The idiot Umps aren't gonna change a bad call. Let it go.

Every time he does this, he hurts the team. Every single time.

This team is closer to the 2023 team than they are to last year's team.

Baseball is all about the ups and downs though. The pitching has mostly been fine.

I don't expect trade deadline reinforcements though. They're super expensive and the Yankees will probably make another analytics move for a reliever and that's it. Which is why those @sshats should be spending in FA, especially on the FAs that don't carry pick penalties.

Nice bounce back to avoid getting swept by the Reds. Hopefully they wake up and get back to winning series at the very least.

The Yankees lack of situational hitting has been a problem for well over a decade.

Even dating back to Girardi we struggled to knock in RISP, hence why guys like Larry Bowa and Kevin Long were fired.
