Tell me this story doesn't just write itself, just in time for NBA on NBC with their lovely storytelling

I get it but our depth does get zapped again. And its a 2 for 1 trade. I see it like a 3 for 1 trade to be honest. Hart had a monster year because of KAT's spacing. Hart and Giannis will not mesh well...so your killing his value as well.

I'm torn because Giannis is Giannis...but it doesn't solve all our issues because our depth still sucks...we lose shooting...and your relying even more on Mitch and OG's health.

Yes you need to at least get a half decent player back from either Milwaukee or Spurs. Maybe Kuzma.

We would also now have a spacing problem because of Mitch and Giannis.

KAT and Thibs for 2025-26 means we are not likely to ever again reach the ECF. One or both have to go. Yesterday was like the Pacers on ice skates and the Knicks stuck in cement. For a reported D coach, Thibs screwed the pooch. And that's not even getting into the pound 17 seconds for an iso offense. That worked well yesterday, didn't it? If this was baseball, KAT would be the designated hitter. And valuable. But it's basketball. :nonono:

Curious why you think this way. What have you seen from the current eastern conference that makes you think the teams we beat with these guys that will make them better or the teams we didn’t face to be better than this squad?

Well to start with we didn't beat the Pacers. And the Pistons will be better. Orlando probably won't be hit with injuries like this year and they have pick #16. Philly will Maxey, maybe Embid and they have pick #3. Boston is still Boston even if Tatum is iffy for next season. The Bucs still have Giannis. And the Cavs still have a good team and DM.

And we will have the same D and same O and same Coach and be the slowest of the bunch with the worst bench. Last year we were injury free. Will that last thru next season at the rate NBA stars are going down each year?

Getting 51 wins again, let alone to the 2nd round Playoffs, relies on some changes that were not evident in the Pacer series. But maybe... :-?

Well we already won 50+ games two seasons in a row and another 47 games the season before with this coach despite injuries in prior seasons. So I think we are good with 45+ wins without changes. Probably closer to 50 since Boston will be injured all year, Bucs may blow the team or will be less talented with Lillard out all season, Cleveland possibly taking a step back if the FO doesn’t want to pay a large tax bill. I don’t think Philly situation is easily resolvable. I agree Orlando and Detroit will probably get better but that cancels out Bucks Celtics possible decline.

We also didn’t have Mitch for most of the year. I also think younger players and the bench showed enough that one or two players will get bigger roles next season. So overall I think we can be back to ECF and it doesn’t necessarily need a complete overhaul.

Johnnie Bryant is a finalist for Suns coach. The Knicks might want to beat them to it.

What about Towns for Davis?

On paper, I absolutely love AD with this group.

I wonder what could be going down three weeks before the draft outside of a coaching change?

Obviously the big concern.

I'd still take that risk. Wrap him in bubble wrap for the regular season. Plus, we have that miracle trainer now.

Or does Leon Rose walk away on a high note. The team had the best run they had in 25 years, but they weren't good enough, and very few ways to improve going forward.

I'll keep saying it

If you go after Giannis, you should keep KAT.

If we want to compete with JB as our main piece then we have to put defensive and 2 way players around him.

Knicks Trade- KAT
Memphis Trade- JJJ, Brandon Clarke, GG Jackson, Konchar

Knicks after:
Brunson/McBride/Kolek
Bridges/McCullar/Konchar
Anunoby/Hart/Dadiet
Jackson Jr/Clarke/GG Jackson
Robinson/Hakporti

Knicks add a former DPOY who can score 20+ a game, get some salary relief off KATs contract and add a couple of nice bench pieces.

Memphis does it to add another true star in KAT next to Ja and Bane without worrying about having to resign JJJ. They have a ton of cap space to work with even after to fill in around them.

If they moved Thibs and KAT I would be stunned but it would make sense if the goal is to win.

I like it. Even expanding to include Mikal for Bane makes sense as others have pointed out.

First order of business is to send Thibs packing, however.

Grammar is not my strong suit. But I am not sure you can use these 2 adverbs in the same sentence.
