be careful. i think dolan's meeting with melo foreshadowed much of this. We dont know if there was an ultimatum. We dont know if cp3 is waiting in the wings. Hell, DENVER MIGHT JUST REJECT THIS OFFER.

I love gallo, you know i do, but Melo playing next to an elite post player is scary.

The fact that dolan is meeting with melo just confirms that we are going to get hosed in this deal.... You can count on that man to screw up walsh's work..

and thats exactly what he did

we are offering MORE than the original deal that Walsh rejected weeks ago

if we don't win the championship within 5 years, they are done unless they get lucky and pick the next Kobe with a late 1st round pick

Only in NY would you have people threatening to walk away from the team for landing a max guy for a few pieces we thought we may perhaps be able to hang on to... Some people don't know what other teams would give to have these two on the team, and we have people talking about how this deal would be 'hard to swallow' - comon guys.

Nobody in this deal is a star except Melo, and he's a superstar. For those who are against this deal, what is the alternative you'd propose? Develop Gallo? Sign Chandler to a 10M dollar contract? Whoever said the thing about Melo changing Denver's franchise around is right...you go after these players and you don't look back. Aren't you tired of winning 30 games a year...now potentially being an average .500 team? We'd team up two of the fiercest scorers in the league. Having assets is nice but you eventually have to develop them as stars or use them. Who else would you rather have? Saying Melo and A'mare are flawed is a joke...every player has flaws, those two are top 12 players in the league and we'd have them both...come on. All the fussing over Gallo, Chandler, and Felton? Two of those three weren't long term options anyway.

This is missing the point. I would trade Gallo for Melo. Of course.

It's the fact that it didn't have to come to this. Melo could have prevented this kind of deal if he chose to do so. He'd have his money, his city, and a stronger team. Instead, he went pu$$y and now we are paying for it.

New York is now putting Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry and a first round pick to Denver for Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups and salary cap filler.

This trade could still be killed. Denver's pattern is to move the goal posts.

On one thing said above by another poster, Stoudemire is not an elite post player really. He's a face up player and slasher.

yea... my first game was the knicks vs the sixers.... haha... anyway. melo is not old, he is 26, but my point, is the knicks just don't believe in developing their own, espeically if they are not a star in year 1.. like ewing was... but hey, I hope denver backs out... really I do..

Many people forget Melo took a lottery Denver team to playoff team in the West.

Waiting for people to say hes never won anything...oh sorry he couldnt get passed the dominant Lakers or Spurs by himself

Melo said it at the Sager interview no meetings this weekend. Isiah gave up the franchise for Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry and they were failures, giving up draft picks

Melo is a proven player already that has led a team to the playoffs ever since he was a rookie. Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry were valued high all because of the talent they had, but were never proven.

i believe if this were to happen it would actually enrage melo to the point where he'd come here in the offseason.
