Making it a sign and trade would be huge...

- we'd keep the MLE for Hill (which allows us to start TD at point)- we might be able to keep Turiaf or trade him for value; if we have to sign Tyson we'd probably need to trade Turiaf for a 2nd round pick to free up cap space, cause I don't think amnestying Billups by itself gives us enough space to sign Chandler.

- we'd keep the amnesty, you know, for in case Tyson turns out to be a bust we just dump him and try again next summer.

In no universe is that a good thing

It's better than starting Fields and TD in the backcourt, which is a very realistic possibility. And I like a TD-Hill combo. Hill can run the offense and TD can focus on scoring and D. That's a nasty defensive backcourt, just not against Rondo.

The Knicks wouldn't have done this deal if they didn't have a PG on their mind to replace BIllups, they know who they want its just a matter of when we find out.

Trying to figure out why this makes me so happy...

1) Solves our Center problem. Don't have to think about Kwame Brown.
2) Improves our defense x100
3) May finally put to rest CP3 rumors, can concentrate on this season, building team
4) Didn't have to give up anything of value, Billups was leaving anyway
5) Don't have to rely on a lame duck PG this year, awkward situation
6) Opens up many possibilities at PG, can think about Nash, Davis, who knows

Yes you do if they are both iso players who don't make plays for others. Iso offense is the least efficient offense, and it's the easiest to stop.

We have one of the best offenseive coaches in the league, and i'm pretty sure Miami was pretty damn close to winning the chip with a similar situation last year.

A lot of people are forgetting that defense wins championships and if im not mistaken, chandler was on the last team to win a championship. That kind of atmosphere is good for our orginization. bringing in a true center is and should always be a top priority for this team. Allows Amare to move to his true position at PF. You can win the championship without three big time players and without a true 'great' point.

You can't win one without all-NBA defensive big man or major interior presence, and right now, we got one.

Would the Knicks do the Tyson deal without getting Paul on the spot? I don't think so. I think Paul comes to NY in a 3 team trade that sends our heart and soul Stat to New Orleans.
