He's got serial assist killer Asik

Don't get me wrong, Asik is a great player and by virtue of being the only true C on that team it could be argued he's the most integral piece in the Rocket's success this season.

He is an amazing player. Right now, with some centers injured and one of them being a female atm, I think Gasol is the best Center in the NBA. He can do everything, pass, shoot, dribble, drive, defense. It's amazing.

Assuming a perfectly healthy stable of centres in the league I'm not sure who I take over him at #2. He's a much more versatile player than Dwight as well, a Zach and D12 front-court would not work at all.

@Jonathan_Feigen
Jeremy Lin has made 53.9 % of his shots in March, averaging 16.9 points. His run of 3-consecutive 20-pt games his longest since Linsanity.

Marc Gasol actually used to train with one of his coaches at my local rec center. He was in high school. He was slow, really slow, and even more slower. He was kind of fat too. He really was not that great. Everybody in the city thought he wouldn't make the NBA.

It's amazing what a few years could do.

He would mess around and block kids' shots. I can say I got blocked by Marc before.

Tbh, at like 12 years old, I thought he would make NBA because he was 7 feet and Pau's brother, and only for those reasons.

Too bad you didn't bet just ppg and fg%. You knew from the start the assists would be tough to win on.

Nice game from Lin, I got to watch part of it.

But I knew he would hit his ppg and fg% reqs. He is just such a better scorer than he showed early on. The assists made it fun. I just wasn't sure what his ultimate role in the offense would be. Thought he would initiate a little more... that his usage would go up a hair... but it didn't. And Omer "Hands of A$$"ik never really got that pass catching thing down pat.

Point still being... 12/6 and 40% and that's all he'll ever be?

Not really.

13/6/44%

Granted, there's no way he could build on that  Anyone want next year's bet that his ppg will be lower?

You state our Knicks haven't had a solid game against a great opponent in a long time? Why, because you're looking at wins and loses? Box score watching. It wasn't long ago, where our Knicks played a very solid game against Kevin Durant and OKC Thunder. How quickly you forgot, why? Because we lost by 1 point. We've also competed and fought Miami during 3 out of three contests. I spot knee jerk reaction post's when I read them.

You act as if our Knicks aren't fist place of our Atlantic Division 66 games into the regular season. When's the last time a Knicks team has been first place of our own division 66 games into the regular season? But yet, you're crapping all over our Knicks 24/7. No break. We haven't won our Atlantic Division dating back to 1993-1994. 19 years and counting. But here were are, 66 games into the regular season despite injuries throughout the entire season; and we're not only first place of our Atlantic Division but also (less than) one game behind the Indiana Pacers for the second seed of the entire Eastern Conference.

When's the last time our Knicks franchise went into the postseason as a top three seed, better yet, a top two seed? Let me know the answer which I already know, before you then go and harp all over our Knicks of 2012-2013. I don't always vibe or even agree with Quick Kick, but he's one hell of a Knicks fan and the only thing you've countered his post's with, is more negativity surrounding these Knicks. Good night and hopefully you understand where I'm coming from. Look at the history of our Knicks before harping all over these Knicks of 2012-2013. You may end up with more of an appreciation for this current team.

I watch all the games the Knicks play. I think we can all agree that the goal this year is to make the ECF, anything less is a disappointment, no excuses. With that in mind, I'm looking for things in the game to lead me to believe that the Knicks would actually get there. You mention the OKC game, did you watch the game? JR going HAM, shooting lights out? You believe teams will give him that during the playoffs? Please, it is not a sustainable strategy. It was a moral win for the Knicks that night, but not sound play for the playoffs.

And to QuickKick, not sure why you personally attack every poster who believes differently from you. I thought the Mods told you to quit it? I'm not anti-Melo, I'm not anti-Felton, I'm pro Knicks. I can see running basically the Atlanta Hawks offense circa 2008 will lead the Knicks at best to the second round, and I haven't seen anything to prove the contrary.

It's funny but guys like Harden and Gallo flop a lot by flailing their arms to get a foul call, and it works to draw tons of fouls even though it's an exaggerated motion that is not truly the result of contact. That type of maneuver seems immune to the no-flopping rule though. Admittedly Lin does some of it too. Pierce as well, and the list goes on.

Harden can take it to another level I feel, when he swings his arms in a circular motion after he picks up the dribble. Anything in its wake gets whistled. I guess that's within the rules though.

He plays off the ball so he isn't going to get as much. Sort of like Nash playing off the ball and Kobe being the primary ball handler. Its the same thing with Harden and Lin. Not sure why the coach doesn't stagger their minutes more.

Btw some interesting stats.

Lin first 10 games.

10.3 PPG
34.3% FG
25.8% 3PT

In the last 30 games:

14.6 PPG
47.2% FG
41.6% 3PT

Huge improvement in overall efficiency once he got used to playing for the Rockets and his knees got better.

My theory is that this kind of flopping, and to me it's flopping, doesn't work as well in the playoffs.

I don't know. We've seen stars parade to the free throw line during the playoffs. That said, what I described is less "flop worthy" than the exaggerated reactions from minimal contact from Gallo, Lin, Pierce, harden etc.

gallo looks clumsy when he feels the contact and is not a great finisher but can get the calls. when i watch harden it's almost like a damn art form, almost like he's playing in slow motion.
