This and the news of the Bucks talking to Rose, were great rumors to wake up to. Now we need more.

I liked that three team trade (fan speculation, not a legit rumor) where Detroit is involved and takes Ryno and we get Tobias Harris. He can play the 3 and only has 2 years left on his deal

the Knicks and Melo need to move on, and Melo saying he's willing to waive the NTC for Cavs and Rockets opens the possibility to explore legitimate trade options. my guess is that he'd eventually be willing to do the same for other established contenders.

however, Knicks need to realize that they're not getting a lot in return, and holding out for a "great" deal probably means making no deal at all. any team that makes a move for Melo will need time to incorporate him into the mix and get him to gel with whatever other stars they have. it will be easier to do that NOW, with all of the summer and preseason left, than to do it in-season.

so the best offers are gonna come now and they'll only get weaker as time goes by, especially if teams get the sense that he'll opt out at the end of the season. the next big domino to fall is Gordon Hayward; depending on where he goes, the market for Melo could change significantly -- for better or worse. i would try to get ahead of that move and take the best deal available over the next few days.

I thought only good players could control their destiny. Until we get a decent deal, leak out that they're considering keeping Melo. Spin it in a way that they want to focus on defense and establish a defensive mindset. So, they feel Melo at 4 in today's NBA. Given the logjam with KP, Melo will be coming off the bench. Say that the projected starting lineup is:

Veteran PG
Frank/Dotson
Lee
KP
WILLY
6: Melo

He'll expand his list within a week.

Remember when morey asked for 2 picks and hill for tmac well I would ask for same a young prospect and 2 draft picks.

Can Miami trade Chris Bosh contract? I feel they can get involved somehow. Also know we have more leverage than everyone thinks. Couldn't think of a worse situation than forcing Melo to come to practice everyday on a team that is rebuilding. And not trying to win or give him better mins. U will see that ntc list expand.

Everyone should show some patience in regards to Melo. If the Knicks were smart they wouldn't do anything with Melo until Hayward makes his decision.
