I have a feeling a lot of ppl didn't etch Hardaway last yr. His defense was actually very good and his shot selection was better but I still hate this contract because I feel like he played that way due to the vet prescence in ATL. We're a team that doesn't hold each other accountable and that's a horrible environment for a guy like Hardaway because he'll probably go back to his usual ways. I believe he'd be a great player on a team that has real vets and we're definately not that team

this. right now he has a lack of burst and he is 6'5 so naturally he does get stripped by quicker PG's. we are putting a teenage kid in a position to fail. we need him to share the back-court with someone that can cover his weaknesses ball-handling and slashing, until he matures more physically.

Baker isn't really even a real PG.

Our SG rotation is potentially: Lee/Hardaway/Baker/Ntikilina.

Our PG rotation: Nobody  Or imagine Chasson Randle as our PG bringing up the ball :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

chasson was getting srtipped like crazy in the summer league too. how do we run jeff's offense if we don't even have a PG with good handles?

They reallt no though. Did any of you even watch the Hawks last year? Timmy willed them to some good games and a few wins. Yall still stuck in the past.

You're so right. Knicks fans should buy Prozac by bulk. They hated the KP draft. They hated Phil. They laughed at Willy. At Baker. Some called Dotson a rapist. They hated picking Ntilikina. Now they hate that Phil is gone. They even hate themselves.

71 million for 4 years and a player option.

well then you aren't signing him. In a league where roberson (who you can't even have in the game because he can't shoot FT's at 10 million...and waiters at 12 million). THjr (who I am not even a fan of) is at least better than them. They had to be planning about 15 for him. The market was set for that.

The commentators were saying he wil get paid and he has solidified himself in the videos. In the comments people were saying Hawks should build around him wtf.

I swear that Isiah Thomas is whispering in Mills' ear.

What an incompetent franchise.

Where's the note about Hardaway's no trade clause?

We should have tried to trade for Allen Crabbe, better player on a better contract.

If they decline to match, then we're gambling that Timmy will take another step in his development, which he very well may. If he gets his scoring to 18 pts per and adds 4 ast and 3 reb, then he's be "earning" his pay in today's NBA and could be traded as an asset. That's a big if... we still need a PG or our offense will be a hot mess and the young'ins won't develop.

If hardaway gets 4 assists in the season it'll be by accident

Tim Hardaway is young and we need young talent. He can not only shoot but he can attack the basket in transition and draw fouls. He has athleticism

The deal averages out to ~17 million per year. Not bad in this new cap climate. That's like Courtney Lee + Lance Thomas. He can play next to Ntilikina who will offset his weaknesses and improve his strengths. And I think he still has room for growth

I bet a lot of people would've been fine paying Bazemore $$$$ last summer and he kind of fizzled out.

This is what they just offered that kind of money for lol, Mills my man can you hire someone competent ASAP and back out of this deal.

I don't necessarily agree with it, but the Knicks are banking on his post ASG breakout as being real (and you can go back to almost the halfway point of the season to his being good actually starting).

Hardaway, Jr., Post-ASG:
32.0 MPG, 17.5 PPG, 3.5 REB, 2.6 ASST, .471 FG%, .593 TS%

By contrast, here are Klay Thompson's full-season numbers in the same categories:
34.0 MPG, 22.5 PPG, 3.7 REB, 2.1 ASST, .468 FG%, .592 TS%

Obviously Klay is a waaaaaay better defender, but I think the Knicks are buying THjr's second half last year as a jumping off point for the rest of his career. If it is, they actually win this contract in a BIG way - that's a valuable offensive player, playing efficiently, in an offensive-leaning league.

If not, then, well, yeah...it everything we fear and more.
