I'm the most negative fan with the Knicks, but there's no reason for Leon to clear this much cap unless he has the word of an available star player.

Maybe. But there’s been many examples in the past 20 years of “there’s no way they would do this unless so and so is lined up” and we end up with a bunch of role players.

Agree but there aren't any teams with our position. Cap space + a ton of picks + young players.

This is where they get Ayton, while the Knicks re-run out scrubs Mitch and Sims

Good. Hopefully, they will bottom out this time and get a difference-maker in the draft and not try to think this roster can contend.

They'll just get another RJ or KP.

All that depth the Hawks acquired is being cashed in and paying dividends. I think the Knicks are holding out for Donovan Mitchell (or someone like that) in a year or 2.

I approve. Knicks shouldn't make any moves for role players or players that don't move the needle to championship

We don’t know that. Knicks weren’t even trying to move Randle at all. And they probably still aren’t.

We would have probably heard that rumor if it happened. There’s been rumors Knicks are shopping and taking calls on Randle. If there was an Ayton for Randle offer we would have heard and Knicks would be fools to turn that one down. But it didn’t happen. Knicks just seem to value Randle a lot higher then other teams.

Randle for Ayton is not a possibility. We are already supposed to be keeping Mitch and we are not going to have two centers locked up like that.

Randle could be what a team like Portland should want. A guy to help "the guy" Lakers I could see wanting him, a team with worse contracts would probably prefer him.

If we sign Brunson to 4/110, he will be the 14th highest paid PG in the league.

He's definitely not trash or overpaid

He fits WAY differently with both of those teams, you're comparing apples and oranges. We have no three point shooters outside of Fournier unless he's also on the floor with IQ/Grimes (we both know they aren't starting). Everyone in that starting lineup operates best inside the arc. It's a bad fit and we're overpaying someone who is a bad fit. It's at least understandable if you're gonna overpay someone when they fit the roster and will make everyone better but...

I don't get why people think he isn't a good fit, when he's literally going to be playing the role of Derrick Rose as a starter.

i get that. i'm talking about the people who specifically say he's trash, not the fit or team build conversation. obviously the implications are different in every scenario.

No, they don't.

All you are hearing is rumors by twitter nerds hunting clicks that the Knicks SEEM to be clearing cap space or they MIGHT trade Fournier for cap space+ exception etc etc.

All we know is they have 29 or 30 million in cap space and they have an interest in Brunson.

Even that they might hand out a descending contract is speculation.

Who is the star? Beal or LaVine taking paycuts?

Unlikely

Drummond is pretty possible. Assuming we will end up with the Room MLE (5,3M) available to grab a reinforcement, there are not too many centers available for that amount. I would exclude Bamba, Looney, Portis, and the RFA Claxton.

Our options would be Hartenstein, Drummond, Thomas Bryant, Jalen Smith (probably too inexperienced and redundant with Sims), and Harrel (assuming the market is convinced he is a crazy person).

Brunson now a bad fit in the latest round of moving goalposts.

Having to watch Drummond even 10 mpg just might be enough to give up my watching the Knicks habit.
Don't worry, I'll still on here mocking it all.

Calling him trash is just an uneducated opinion. He’s a very good player. He’s a guy you acquire when you have two stars and you need someone to run the offense and get them the ball while also picking up slack when necessary. We are not that team.

Yes I sorta had an addiction to Nutella like 10 years ago but I haven’t had it in years

My kids weren’t big peanut butter fans either. But they loved this sandwich

1 slice peanut butter
1 slice jelly
1 slice Nutella on both sides (middle slice)

Something about the combination really compliments each other

I haven't eaten pb and j for a minute, but I can't now. Got diagnosed with diabetes, so I gotta cut down on processed sugar, pb and j would be like the worst thing for that cause it's all carbs. Nutella is just awful for you though lol

I found that grapes with a handful of peanuts kind of hit that same spot though. One of my favorite snacks right now.
