Re: OT: The official Coronavirus fear mongering thread
Breaking now is a possibly serious scandal of GOP Sen. Richard Burr dumping his stock based on inside information about the virus. He was caught on tape informing his donors of the impending crisis while withholding the details from his constituency
Have to wonder how many of these politicians urged their rich backers to dump their assets into the markets too while hiding the truth from the voting public

This insider trading scandal is rapidly morphing into a tornado that could rip the GOP apart
A second GOP senator began dumping millions in stock right after being briefed.
And this Senator is married to the chairman and CEO of the New York Stock Exchange. Ooops!

Also, a key detail is both Burr and Loeffler were pumping out false narratives praising Trump about how well he was handling the crisis while they were dumping stock, telling other insiders and lying to their voters. This is insider trading, profiteering off the public at the worst possible time.

My fingers are crossed no Democrat did this, because if it was only the GOP their party will be hammered over this going into the election.
Some of these people are headed to prison in 2021 as long as the Democrats control the WH and both houses

This is going to be a huge scandal folks. So amazing to see this when I had just posted how I think Trump uses his inside position to play the markets. I'd say my mind is blown, but not really

People are mocking Sean Penn for speaking on CNN about the value of deploying the military as if he's some know nothing Hollywood libtard. Dumb people. He's actually a true humanitarian with great experience. The guy lived in a tent in Haiti for months helping the people there after the earthquake and he showed up after Katrina. The guy actually does stuff.

Bummer. Well, she's literally older than Moses so if we lose her to this scandal then so be it. Shame though. Of all the people who should know better, she'd be on the top of my list

It is very possible Feinstein didn't insider trade and was doing normal stock transactions. Will wait and see, but this is more likely knowing her past. She disclosed activity, but her trades are not similar to the stock dumps of the others

Trump has been manipulating the stock market for a while now. Before the coronavirus came along, every Thursday or Friday he would lie and say the US and China were close to a trade deal just before the stock market closed at 4pm to go into the weekend in the green.
Being that a lot of people are home from work on Saturday and Sunday, his main objective on these 2 days was to create a story that the media couldn't resist from covering, as a way to distract them from reporting/updating the people that now have free time to get them up to date on the nonsense he did from Monday to Thursday.
It didn't take long to notice his trend of holding press conferences at 3 in the afternoon, hoping that what was said would be enough for the stock market to stay in the green before they closed at 4pm, if only to give the people reaching in from work a false hope that the day was a good day.
He is a genius at exposing the media's biggest weakness of always wanting to be first to report something.

He is a genius at using the media's weakness of not wanting their competition to get all of the attention against them.
Mark Burnett was the real genius behind Trump who was basically left for dead by the American banks after he burned them with his casino failures.
Burnett gave Trump a fantasy to inhabit and Americans actually believed he was a billionaire. He never was, he's always running a deficit and the only reason he was able to service his debt was through liquidity provided Deutsche Bank which is now well known for laundering money of Russian gangsters.
The reason Deutsche Bank could afford to give Trump these risky loans when no American bank would touch them is because they were collateralized by Russian banks which are paper fronts for Putin who dictates what those banks do. More than half of the transactions buying and selling of Trump condos are done by offshore shell corporations.
Once they buy an American asset, their money is effectively laundered. This is why Trump condos would often be flipped in a month. A shell corp. would buy it over market rates then sell it to another sleazebag wanting to launder their money. It's a human centipede of corruption. Been going on for a long time now.
Trump hasn't been a legit businessman for a very long time and even when he was back in the 1980s he was still a failure who did a half dozen bankruptcies leaving lenders holding the bag.
Trump's genius is he learned early on he who trolls the loudest gets the most attention. Wrap that energy in enough BS and the average sucker is convinced it has to be legit because how could you be this loud and proud about absolutely nothing? Mark Burnett saw an opportunity to market this and he's the genius who re-packaged Trump when he was damaged goods. Enough Americans are so gullible they actually believed this guy is a billionaire. He's worthless. He told his girlfriend Marla Hanson in the 90s he had a negative net worth in the hundreds of millions. America is the land of opportunity in some cases because it is full of suckers that believe a charlatan like this is a success story.
So I'm glad someone else understands that he'd be likely to be using his pulpit to trade the markets against the best interests of the United States. That's all he's done since day 1 of his Presidency, profiteer any way he can. I know so much more about this, because I researched it heavily back in the day, but suffice to say Jared is one filthy MF and he's going to rot in prison along with Trump.

Trump Told Governors to Buy Own Virus Supplies, Then Outbid Them

A couple of quotes:
“I’ve got a feeling that if someone has the chance to sell to you and to sell to me, I am going to lose on every one of those,” a sheepish-sounding Baker told Trump, who chuckled at the remark.
The president replied he still wants governors to seek out their own medical equipment, like protective gear for doctors and nurses as well as respirators, but acknowledged the federal government has greater buying power than any state.
“Prices are always a component of that also. And maybe that’s why you lost to the feds, OK, that’s probably why,” Trump said.
and
Trump earlier Thursday repeated his belief that the onus should be on the states -- and not the federal government -- to obtain needed equipment to combat the pandemic, saying his administration is not a “shipping clerk” for the supplies that could potentially save lives.
