Been a love/hate relationship for me with Randle his entire tenure with the Knicks and it's probably going to be the same with KAT. He's always been known to be a little soft and can't have that in the big lights of NYC. Only time will tell how this will work out.

So i was thinking that KAT would play the 5 here but the general consensus is that he's playing the 4.

So

Precious/Karl/OG/Mikal/Brunson with Josh and Deuce as the main rotation? Sims backs up Precious and we'll probably end games with Hart on the floor.

Interesting to see how Thibs will handle this. Hopefully someone can step up off the bench so we can at least run an 8 to 9 man rotation in the regular season.

I worry about the defense though. I like Mitch but Rudy is a better defender.

rudy is better but they're similar types of players. the wolves had the best defense in the league. we might not have that but it's gonna be good especially with mikal/og.

Randle was tougher but had the same injury concerns recently and also has never proven himself in the playoffs.

So this is a part of the reason why we had almost 20 players signed. We needed some bodies to send out in a potential (now finalized) trade.

I hope the next body we send out is a member of the 76'ers, a Center named Embiid. They'll need to trade him to somewhere out West after we eliminate the Sixers again.

KAT also doesnt need to be in when we are protecting a lead. A line up of:

Hart
Bridges
Brunson/McBride

Is absolutely lock down and would have enough scoring to hold a lead.

Being that Thibs is stubborn with lineup changes, I think he only goes that route if KAT at the 5 isn’t working and breeding mix results. I don’t foresee him forcing Mitch in the lineup just for the sake of things, similar to ihart last season and us playing OG at the 4.

KAT at the 5 doesn’t work. That’s already been proven.

Why do you think Minny brought in Gobert to play with him?

Expecting interior defense from KAT is like expecting Randle to not do spin move turnovers every game.

Both flawed stars. KAT is the better fitting flawed star and we brought in best big man coach in offseason (probably not coincidence).

KATS D has improved and if KAT is surrounded by OG and Bridges and Hart thats plenty of D to make up for his deficiencies

Beating phi in 23

Were done without Randle

2/ this trade is about making Brunson better. Playing 5 out when the game is on the line in iso for any of our guys— Brunson, mikal og kat, matters. If you don’t believe me you didn’t watch the biggest difference between the Mavs and Boston in the finals. Rim runners and corner threes completely neutralized by Boston bc they switched every defensive possession.
