Yes but any team will take on Taj Gibson and James Johnson which saves them 3 million. Not really hard after that.

Except they have like 22 million committed after the trade(hoopshype salaries), so they have about 34 million available.

Do we have Derrick Rose & Joakim Noah?

get it? 2 max + rose and noah?

FALSE!

$30M is not enough to sign two MAX FAs. It's enough to sign ONE MAX ($17.5M) plus ONE SUB-MAX ($12.5M). It's LeBron and maaaaaybe Boozer. Not LeBron and Bosh.

That's because it IS time to panic. They have room for two maxes, plus they have an All-Star PG and an on the rise big man. They could have a championship calibre team withing the next couple of weeks.

It's not time to panic, Chicago is called the 2nd City for a reason. LOL

You have to wait until it all plays out....

Trade Johnson and they have about 35 million in room.

They are celebrating on the Bulls board like they are going to get two maxes, but I"m no accountant so I am not certain. But I will say that they have put their self in prime position to do some major cock blocking.

I think the somebody on the Wizards owed somebody on the Bulls a favor because I don't see how this helps the Wizards AT ALL.

FWIW,

Salaries:
Deng $11,345,000
Rose $5,546,160
Noah $3,128,536
Johnson $1,713,360
Gibson $1,117,680

Total $22,850,736

5 min roster slots $2,300,000 or so
Total $25,155,736

Capspace for two free agents at a $56.1M cap:
$30,944,264

A max contract starts at around $16.6M or so, no $17.5M. Realgm had an article on this recently that these guys were losing a little money by opting out. Chicago needs to shed a little more money for two max contracts.

If Lebron goes to Chicago, Bosh is coming here. He doesn't be a 2nd fiddle. But he also doesn't want to play center...so Walsh, find us a big man (Biedrins, Gortat, Okafor, etc.)

Eh, not too surprising. I mean are we in much worse position than when teams thought that CHI and TOR could do a s & t? A little, yes. But if LBJ and Bosh WERE coming then the still ARE coming, CHI can clear all the space they want.

CHI has been trying to dump that contract forever anyway.

Trade makes little sense to me though from a WAS perspective.

So now they can get Boozer with JJohnson. If Lebron wanted to come to NY which I think he does, this doesn 't change a thing. He will be here, and will everyone please stop overrating Noah. And I think a PG that can shoot would be a better fit than Rose.

even if it's not enough for two maxes like LeBron/Bosh, it still changed the game for them.

LeBron could join a core of Rose, Noah, Deng and now Joe Johnson. They'd be missing a PF, but that's an amazing 1-3, and a defensive C to back them up.

But the whole idea was that they wanted to come here to play together. Why do it here when they can do it in Chicago?

Well it's over. I don't Blame Donnie for the plan and the moves he did but it's obvious this franchise is cursed and going nowhere. Seriously. Knicks fans are a dying breed. Half the fans that attend games are out-of-towners and tourists coming to see the opposition. We are a week away from the great free agent bonanza and we will be left out in the cold. We'll probably scrape some mediocre fake franchise guy like Joe Johnson and Carlos Boozer but what is that doing to do, really? Nothing.

I will give up on this team in the coming weeks. I've been holding out hope for a while but the end is near. I've been a diehard fan for the past 12 years of my life and I've reached my limit. I'm not going to prepare myself for another decade of losing. I can't handle it anymore. I know people always threaten to quit the Knicks and don't but I'm serious. The Knicks are simply not worth the time and effort anymore. I wont become a bandwagon fan of anyone. I guess I'll just watch random NBA games for my basketball fix. But as far as my Knicks passion goes? It's nearly all gone. And it's a damn shame.

WHY DO THE BULLS ALWAYS WIN? Nothing good EVER happens to this godforsaken franchise! We'll wind up with 30 year old Joe Johnson and Amarae, who will go down with a knee injury and never fully recover, leaving us to pay him the remainder of his bloated contract while we watch the Bulls go on to win more titles.

I hate the NBA.

Can somebody explain to me why the Wizards do this deal though? Take on Kirks contract just to get the 17 pick in the draft and give NOTHING back? Seriously? A team in their own division?
