I would hope Donnie knows that nothing is guaranteed... of course theres a chance Melo wont be available this summer, even if Amar'e himself told him that he would be... who knows if all of a sudden the Lakers or someone comes in and steps up to trade for him, we would surely look to resign there...

Until hes in a Knick uniform, there is always more of a chance of him not being a Knick, in fact...there is more of a chance of him never putting on a Knick uniform... as soon as he gets here, hell wear the blue and orange for life!

I don't think Gallo is going anywere. The Knicks marketing reps wouldn't be pushing him so damn hard on us and creating this entire Italy trip if he wasn't a core piece of our future

Look at Miami, everyone has them penciled in to win 70 games and 5 titles in a row with 3 players and one solid player in Mike Miller. If we get Melo and Amare, we got 2 players there and still should have a real solid bench...I think we can compete with these two. If we can keep one of Randolph/Gallo, well then wow..

Amar'e/Melo are close enough to Bosh/Wade but how the hell do you get someone to match LeBron? That player doesn't exist. We would be second place forever. We have to take some chances here.

Which is why we need to keep Gallo.

Along with depth, I think Amare/Melo/Gallo can get it done.

Even if that doesn't get it done (which it likely doesn't), you at least have more pieces to trade down the line for a guy like Paul to up the ante. Trading both AR and Gallo for Carmelo is plain stupid and for me, completely out of the question. Moot point though because Donnie has clearly declined that deal already.

Ahem.

Agreed. This is what I expect to happen when it's all said and done. Losing 2 rotation guys and replacing them with 1 is not blowing up the team.

@Knicks742 & KnicksGod: Yep, If we can still end up keeping 3 from the 1st list and 1 from the 2nd list AND get Carmelo to pair with Amare and Felton, we INSTANTLY become a Top 3 Team in the East!

If we deal Chandler for the pick then deal the pick + 14 1st + Curry + AR for Melo, I'll be happy. Anything more than that....ahhhhh

Don't see how you could sell a deal to the Denver fans without one of either AR or Gallo.

Huh?

What don't you understand? Straightforward English. Rumors involving the Knicks usually have at least a grain of truth to them.

I don't know man, there are lots of bogus rumors and reports out there about new york sports and our media is not really all that above sensationalistic writing.

Just my opinion but you know how many reports did we have about Lebron coming here? Getting apartments? Shopping for homes... you know. Crap.

I think it's a deal involving a pick coming from Detroit

Detroit gets Curry (cap relief), Chandler and Douglas two good young players plus the second round picks for 2011. Denver gets a scorer in Rip and an expiring in Wilcox plus a 2011 1st and a 2015 1st while The Knicks get Melo and get to keep Gallo and AR :D

Happy Hour Starts @ 4...Bottles on me, long as someone drinks em!

 I would love for that to happen. Would be some seriously gangsta sh*t on Donnie's part but I doubt Denver would be willing unless things got really desperate for them.

On second thought, they already seem like desperate housewives.

Exactly, even if a deal is in place for a #1, the ball is Denver's court whether they feel the Knicks can put together a package acceptable to them.

In this system, it's important that we keep GALLO. So as much as I love AR4, Personally I would send him off in a deal for Melo b/4 I send GALLO away in a deal.

I think it's a 3 team trade contingent on denver... donnie won't trade for a 1st unless he's sure the knicks are getting melo chandler and td are valuable to this team.... i can see the knicks making a deal with portland sending them chandler and both 2's for fernandez plus the rights to one of their overseas guys and a 1st then flipping the 1st, the overseas player, the rights to jerome jordan plus curry and Gallo(he's the odd man out sadly can't play sg and melo is a sf) and walker to den for melo so the knicks would end up with melo and fernandez and retain td...

i don't think donnie wants to gut this team and based on that 4 team trade he'll make it a multi-team deal so he can get assets to flip and not just parts of the knicks... the nets were just gonna give up favors, harris, and jarvis hayes and 2 1sts...if the knicks end up giving up 2 1sts, both 2nds, chandler, curry, gallo i think that's more than fair based on how little the nets were actually gonna give up...

or maybe donnie has threaten to reveal pics of kahn in an unflattering light and will get one of the minny pg's to move to den

guys, just a thought here

anybody think that Melo may end up being traded here WITHOUT signing the extension? Perhaps to sign a slightly lower deal to allow for CP3 to come here in 2012? Think about it. The three weasels in Miami did it, why not Amare/Melo/Paul?
