Wow.

EDIT: Yes, I'd still laugh if you had said catholic, jewish, buddhist, hindu or whatever. Being religious doesn't make a person any better or worse than anyone else.

That's your opinion. I won't laugh at it because I'm above that. No point in turning this into a completely off-topic debate, so we won't be going there. You can believe what you want, and I certainly don't have to agree.

Oh you won't laugh at his very reasonable and accurate opinion that being religious doesn't make a person better than someone else? How admirable.

I don't like to think people are so set in their ways that the saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks applies but this sounds pretty ....'woof'.....
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I'm with you man. It hurt me to death when we lost to the rockets in 94 but I comforted myself with the fact that at least a good muslim brother like hakeem was getting a ring. Hakeem is my favorite player of all time.

Can we please not use the word better in a religious discussion? Yes religious people use it a lot, but us non-believers should be better than getting wrapped up in a semantical debate...I'm so clever...What they mean is more like them and better according to their standards. Just cause their standards come from some belief system that's more publicized and easier to poke fun at doesn't make it any better to attack them than attacking anyone that develops a world view in which some people are better, more valuable, etc. than others. It's their prerogative to place value in shared faith and ours to find that silly. No need to get all up in arms about it on a basketball forum about two of our most important players training with one of the all-time greats.

And you can bet if they didn't do something like this, they'd be criticized for not trying to improve their games in the off-season.

These guys just can't make the right move.

Remember when LeBron spend a summer with Olajuwon? Yeah, old habits die hard.

You have reading comprehension skills. Respect. Thank you. Having sensible fellow posters keeps these forums worth it.

Well said. I don't feel compelled to poke fun at non-believers because I don't have a problem with non-believers; I don't expect it in return. We are all entitled to draw pride from what we want to.

Absolutely, bro. He totally deserves all the accolades. It really is a personal inspiration to see a basketball legend prioritize being a high-character, devout person.

On the Bulls board I also read Noah will work with Kareem. I guess Tyson and Amare aren't the only ones looking to expand their game.

I don't really care about that. Stat and Tyson are both 10+ year vets. I doubt they will learn or change their game at their age. Being healthy should be their priority. That's the thing I'm worried about.

Bottom line, there was a lot of easy hoops Tyson could not finish from 2-3 feet from the rim. Still much respect for Tyson, he shoots 70% with 10 ppg. But The Dream can still help him. Maybe he will finish from up close, instead of relying on dunks.

Amar'e, stating the obvious, but even one post move can help a lot.

Robin Lopez worked with Olajuwon too last year. And Gortat.

They didn't change much.

Post game is not just about having moves around the basket. Its also about a shooting touch in the paint. You can't teach touch around the basket, it has to be practiced and learned over a long period of time. Now, Chandler has absolutely no touch around the basket. If its not going off the backboard like normal layups then it most likely isn't going in (unless he just slams it down of course).

Amare has never developed back to the basket moves, but he has good touch around the paint with both the left and right hand. This is why he can make those weird looking floaters when he is 8 feet in. Amare's problem in my opinion has always been footwork and body control in traffic. Hakeem has mastered those things. I have a strange suspicion this might really help Amare. It won't do much for Tyson though.
