The Knicks were not supposed to let him go.

No wonder he chose Houston, he has someone dress for him!
If the decision to go bowtie to the ESPYs was his idea, definitely going to Houston would be a plus, if what you are is true.

Well, they won't be bench guys in Houston. And that's the problem. A lot of the league's talent evaluators view Lin as a backup. While that remains to be seen, I like Goran Dragic and Kyle Lowry, both of whom the Rockets got rid of this summer, better than him right now. Perhaps Lin will shine in Kevin McHale's pick-and-roll-heavy offense, but I don't see him becoming the star that he looked like for two months in New York.

If Houston is below .500 club, and doesn't make the playoffs, where the heck will the money be? ALL the things around Linsanity made Linsanity. Lin merely putting up outstanding numbers, and the Knicks not turning the season around, make Lin Flip Murray.
It is very possible Linsanity is dead at this point.

No.
Kyrie Irving's team, Rubio's team, Kevin Durant's team (when he was a rookie). The team record in itself does not indicate that Linsanity is dead.
Linsanity is a concept, a way of playing basketball: a free running, attacking, passing, unselfish, team inspiring type of basketball encapsulated in a 23 yo PG who had passed equally to booed-for-his-horrible offense-Jeffries, an unknown Novak, and defense-only-Tyson as much as he did to Melo or STAT. He single-handedly made Jared an offensive piece on the floor! Had they played 3 years together, I wouldn't have been surprised if Jeffries started actually making shots from outside and running the lane like a mad men AND FINISHING.
That's the sign of a team leader, and that's what Linsanity and Jeremy meant to me. I really felt we would've won a championship with him. I really did. And although there are a plethora of doubters and haters out there ("what is a plethora? ha!) He, to me, WAS the missing link. The chemistry builder. The PG we've been desperately looking for. The final piece of the puzzle. The One. What a shame.

Re: All Lin talk here
"On a strange date, Feb. 29, the Knicks were in a strange place: Still in their extended, unintended Lin-led fun-run. But it seemed it would end with a pfft. The Cavs were up 16, late first half, and the Knicks, with Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire both returned from injury, had reverted to “put it in the hands of the stars, clear-out ball.”
In fact, Anthony and Stoudemire combined to miss their first six shots, five of them jump shots. But in the second half, Lin, as if defying the NBA’s caste system, played the way he had the previous 12 games, which included a win over the Lakers without Anthony and Stoudemire. With Lin pushing the ball, always looking inside, always dropping the clear hint to teammates not to run at, then stop in front of defenders, but to make them chase you, the Knicks exhausted Cleveland, ran them goofy.
And the Knicks jump-shooter who most benefitted was Steve Novak, Lin having forced the Cavs to gamble on not guarding Novak in order to try to reclaim the inside because Lin had turned the game into a two- and three-pass layup seminar.
If you must know, Lin played 33:22, shot 6-for-12, scored 19, had 13 assists, five rebounds (two offensive) and one turnover. But what counted most was that the Knicks won, 120-103. That night, abandoning star-status-basketball, they outscored Cleveland 86-53! And the Garden went nuts. And so, perhaps, we could view MSG’s choice of programming, Monday, as something of a going away present.
By far, the most frustrating part of the debate attached to Lin’s departure is that paid basketball experts choose to weigh and measure Lin as a stand-alone, individual act, as if he’s a bowler, an archer. The big picture is lost on them. Lin wasn’t, by himself, all that special. There are a lot of Lins. Or could be. But they’ve been deemed unacceptable in an NBA stuck in no-better-idea, no-braver-idea duplication.
But if we’re to view Lin’s game as a concept, as a better idea for a team game that has been hijacked by stat-headed stars, frightened coaches, signature-model sneaker companies, NBA TV and marketing strategists, then open your eyes! How could you miss it!"

Re: All Lin talk here
It will get ugly at MSG in a very short time....to go from an "explosive" scoring back court of Lin and Jr Smith...to Felton and Brewer...uuggghhh....there will be some very ugly nights...especially when Carmelo is "off'......I mean who do you turn to with a line-up of:
Felton
Brewer (most likely given a promise to start..or why sign for less...oh I know..the big lights of NYC..)
Carmelo
Amare
Chandler
Amare for a knuckle jump shot? (good luck with that)
Brewer (broken jump shot)
Chandler (cant shoot)
Felton (sketchy scorer)
Melo (one of three nights he shows up)
I dont know what Grunnie/Woodie and Dolan were thinking...but it will get ugly very quickly...

Wait, so you are saying the knicks overall team got worse? I like how you didn't even name kidd, who is going to lead the bench finding guys like novak and jr for easy looks.
Just because brewer can't shoot don't make him something you can laugh at, he does other things great, but yea don't bring that up just say he can't shoot.
And let's please not act like jr is a starting sg, he is best at a 6th man role.
If you can't see how knicks got better as a unit at least on paper then just find another team.

I hate to say it and I'm not hating on Lin because I thought he was cool while he was here and he still is equally as cool in Houston. The rise and fall of Jeremy Lin will be interesting to watch. I think being in NY in the media capital put too much attention him and the target he will have on his back will be huge. I just don't see him being able to recreate the magical run he had here. Now don't get me wrong I wish him the best, but it will be interesting to watch how he runs with Omar Asiek and a whole bunch of rookies. I think Morey set him up to fail. Just my honest opinion.

Re: All Lin talk here
As some of you may recall, I posted a video of my son Heartbroken over Lin leaving the Knicks. Well, that video now has close to 12,000 views and Jeremy Lin's business manager has reached out to me about having my son meeting him via Skype!
He's also sending my son a signed#7 Lin Rockets jersey. Would I be a complete douche if I asked for a Knicks signed jersey instead or as well?
Also thanks to all that have taken part of sharing the video to bring the views up, everyone said really nice things about my son. I appreciate it.

I think your overreacting. I don't see how he will have a target on his back when he is getting the pay of an above average pg. He is going to be on a young team that won't win a ton of games so opposing teams wont even take them seriously. Think about how the opposition plays the caveliers with Kyrie or the Wizards with John Wall. And i think he is set up a lot better in Houston. They are a young team and they will run an offense that he will thrive in (more so that in NYK with woodson) plus the expectations are not as high bcus the rockets are not in win now mode they are tanking hard. He can still get his 18 & 8 in houston. Also houston is a smaller market so less media attention. I respect your opinion but I just think your Knick glasses are on way to tight.

Really happy for your son! Really glad Jeremy's camp did see the vid and reached out to you! He's done the same previously when people with Cancer stricken friends and family tweet him because hes their inspiration to get a shout out and he and his camp personally reached out to them via vid or some other ways. Thanks for sharing with us the vid of your kid cos it's pretty heartwarming.
