I'm more concerned about getting the #2 seed than about who limps in at #7.
Obviously we could lose to either Boston or Atlanta, but in both cases I like our chances.

The three teams that really concern me in the east are Miami (obv), Indy, and Chicago.
I like that we are on the other side of the bracket from two of these teams.

Mainly I like it that we are going to be having a meaningful postseason.
I'm used to scouring draft websites at this time of year...

That's my feeling. I'd be more concerned about dirty play than actual match-up. If the Knicks are a true contender, that Boston squad shouldn't be a threat.

This is what I agree with. I think most people are concerned with the dirty physical play of the Celtics. Since it's playoff basketball, they know what's at stake. Celtics are going to give their 200%. Pierce and Garnett are not going to easily back down you know.

One thing that works in our favor this season is that for the first time in years we are the best matchup both in terms of ratings and talent for the team that David Stern is backing. I don't think we'll see the same kind of one sided officiating that we've seen against the Celtics because it's good for Stern and his cronies if we make it to the Eastern Conference Finals against Miami. THEN the refs will try to screw us for sure but it shouldn't happen until then.

I do think it'll be much different with KG in the lineup. It's no coincidence that the first two games were much closer when he was in the lineup, the last two were laughers when he was not. He gives them a layer of leadership, buckets, defense on Melo etc. that they don't have without him. If he's in there, these last two games are not good indications of what it'll be like.

That being said - the Knicks have the better team, and should beat them either way. Melo is clearly the best player on either team and should be able to win it on his own.. let alone with all the help he has on this roster. Green also played pretty well in the two games without KG with 19&10 and 27&4 so it's not like someone didn't supplement KGs numbers -- and they still lost handily. No excuses not to beat them.

I bet they're going to be pretty confident coming into this though... They have a good coach, vets, good home team and I think they believe they can take the series if KG is relatively normal.. Or at least keep it close in each game.

If the Knicks are playing their game, I expect Ws closer to the last few meetings.

I dont care about playing the celtics.

If we cant beat the celtics, we were not going to beat indiana. If the celtics beat us with our home court advantage and record, than we were pretenders all along. Id rather play the celtics than atlanta, since they will be tougher. It will be a good prep series to then face one of the most physical and top defensive teams in the league in the Pacers.

Hell no!

If the Knicks can't beat the Celtics (especially w/o Rondo) they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

I'll be sweet to knock KG & Wheelchair Pierce out of the post season.

Spoiler:
I think the max it goes is 5 games.

I see NY winning the first game in a close game. I see NY beating Boston by 10-15 points in the second game. I see either a close NY win in game 3, or a close Boston win in game 3. I think the Knicks win game 4 by around 10 points, and if there is another game, NY will win by about 5.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

I'll put it this way...

The C's are the toughest first round opponent we could face, so am i concerned? no, but if sh*t happens it's likeliest to happen against them

Definitely. It's the damn celtics. They almost knocked the heat out of the conference finals last year. Garnett and Pierce ain't nothing to mess with.

That being said, they lost Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo who is are both outstanding playoff performers. That is a major blow to the team and it calls for more work for Pierce and Garnett. With HCA, I think we win in 6.

Also, we have Jason Kidd. I feel so confident with that guy on our team.

Half of you are talking about how we match up with the heat, and you are scared of the Celtics?

At the same time, I feel like the Knicks have something to prove this year. Bounced out of the first round, beaten by the Celtics, constant criticism. I think the Knicks will make it to the ECF.

As a FIRST ROUND matchup, the Celtics are not easy at all, especially if healthy.
