I have not met a Mets fan who does not have expect misery every day of their fan-dom. The fact that Jets&Mets fans exist and have not all killed themselves is a testament to how resilient the human psyche is.

Yankee fans (and by that I mean the Yankee media) are the bad seeds out there because they keep beating the drum that basically "Mets season is cute and all, but Cespedes is gone, 1/2 your pitchers are going to leave soon and Mets will never see a season like this again"

Mets fans get arrogant fast when they have a good team and they talk tons of trash. Just think you should actually wait until you have some real playoff success before being so cocky.

Yea same here. I wouldve liked to keep him if we never got Cuddyer. Cespedes is going to be too expensive and long term. And we have Conforto, Granderson, and hopefuly a healthy Largaras/Cuddyer next season. And who knows... maybe Nimmo comes up like Conforto did.

But we also gave up a pretty good prospect for a guy we are only going to have a half a year. So it kind of hurts. Then you add the fact that we lost a 1st round pick for signing Cuddyer. How awesome would it have been if we never got Cuddyer and just got Cespedes?

can you define arrogant? Never met a Mets fan who is forseeing a dynasty... I think the "homer" end is HOPEFUL for a deep playoff run with a shot of WS this season

Any rational human being knows that Mets fans are the true unsung heroes of the baseball world and Yankee fans are deplorable people who are only Yankee fans because they're overcompensating.
Trust but verify.

I respect the mets, and their fandom. I even root for them when they don't play the Yankees. I think that we have no reason to hate each other. Only reason u would hate the yankees, is if ur still bitter from 2000.

Yanks have to go 5-0. If we don't, than we will lose to the Astros in the WC games.

I don't know about that. Who do the Astros have to go up against Tanaka? Plus, you'll have ARod and McCann in the line-up. The big blow to the Yanks was losing Texiera. That one hurts.

I stopped hating the Yankees when they brought up "The Core" up in '96 because they did it the right way instead of just buying up all the best players. The height of my hate for the Yankees came when Steinbrenner was acting like a crazy man and treating a baseball team like a football team. What he did to Dick Houser was just despicable. Oh and the whole Dave Winfield thing too. When George came back from his suspension from baseball things got better. He just needed to be slapped around a little.

And where's greenie? This ain't no fun without her.

Dallas Kuechel has shut us down twice. Tanaka also didn't look pretty during his last start vs Houston.

Pineda was removed in the 6th with one out. You may thank me for gracing you with my presence. 8-)

Justin Wilson is a two pitch pitcher. Really his fastball is the only thing lethal that can throw for strikes.

Oh yeah, Kuechel is pretty darn good. Hey, anything can happen in a one game series.

Thor had a flat fastball today. Throwing a 99mph fastball in a straight line to these fat AL guys will get you in trouble. You gotta throw some breaks like Matz did yesterday.

I am Disappoint in Ces. I want to see him hit those bombs against the good teams.

Ugh. Using Betances and Miller in a 5 run game. I hate it when Joe does this.
