http://nerdist.com/the-flash-season-3-will-officially-be-flashpoint/

THE FLASH SEASON 3 WILL OFFICIALLY BE FLASHPOINT

The season finale of The Flash‘s sophomore year ended with a huge and potentially show-changing cliffhanger–SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven’t seen it yet–which saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) traveling back in time again to save his mother from the Reverse Flash, something he tried and ultimately decided against in the first season’s culmination. But this time, he prevented her murder, and one of the final images we saw was season two Barry fading from existence, meaning that by saving her, Barry forever altered the timeline. But how much was it altered?

Fans have speculated what it could mean for next year, and Monday morning saw a big reveal from Gustin and executive producer Greg Berlanti on Twitter.

That’s right, folks: Flashpoint! The massive DC Comics arc from 2011 will be the premise for season 3 of The Flash. That arc saw Barry going back in time and doing essentially the same thing: changing events and coming back to the “present” to find it completely different, and much darker and less friendly. It was also adapted into a Warner Bros Animation direct-to-DVD feature, entitled Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.

But if you think the show will follow either of these versions exactly, Gustin assured people it would blaze its own trail, much like it has since the beginning.

[tweet]https://twitter.com/grantgust/status/744951601341702144[/tweet]

So, if we’re following logic, if season 3 of The Flash will be Flashpoint, then season 4 will be rebooted into the New 52 which will last for about five years until it becomes The Flash: Rebirth, but not the same as Geoff Johns’ The Flash: Rebirth from several years earlier…boy comic book continuity is confusing.

We’ll have to wait to find out if the “Flashpoint” arc will be the entirety of season 3 or just a mini-arc within it. Another big question is whether this will have ramifications for the other DC TV Universe programs. Will Arrow be a completely different show? Oh, jeez, I hope so. Or will the already-timeline-heavy DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be affected at all? Yet another interesting case will be if the newly-Vancouverized Supergirl will be in any way involved. Maybe they can retcon Barry effing up the timeline to converging the two universes so more crossovers can happen.

Comic-Con and Suicide Squad coming in fast. Gonna try to go to NYCC again, but this time for 2 days instead of 1. I need an Aquaman teaser and a WW trailer.

I meant how Flashpoint will affect those shows.

But yeah, I agree. It's funny how they're taking it cautiously with Aquaman & Wonder Woman. DC doesn't want to overhype it too much after BvS fiasco.

Aquaman is gaining some nice momentum though. Always liked Momoa, since his Staargate: Atlantis days.

OOOOOOOOH. I thought you meant movies and was confused. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how they have the crossovers for sure. I think the timelines/universes will be separate and will continue to go on, but Barry will just be in a different one. Hopefully they explain it well. I'm a little worried about how they make it, because Thomas Wayne was the second most important character in Flashpoint and there isn't a Batman in their universe (yet? - still waiting to hear back from my agent).

BVS full cut got great reviews. Apparently it fixed every plot hole that was left when Snyder had to edit it down. Which just goes back to me saying directors should be allowed to see their vision through. Stop having heads of companies get involved because when they do (Watchmen, FF4, BVS) they ruin it.

Mamoa was AWESOME in Stargate. My dad owns all the seasons on DVD and watched them when he ran - I did the same, when I wasn't watching Smallville. Loved Stargate (and Smallville, obviously). I think I read they were gonna reboot it? If so, that'd be awesome.

So sad to hear. :(

She should get the same treatment from the sorts community that Jimmy V got IMO. She's legendary always reminded me of a cooler Coach Pops from the Spurs.

At work, I keep the headphones plugged in for such situation. I know it's not great, but what else can you do?
At home, it's also a problem for those late finishing games when my wife is asleep and unexpected sounds could wake her up. It's bad enough on those rare occasions when the Knicks were doing so well I couldn't keep myself from cheering out loud... but it wasn't that often, unfortunately.

I listen to Howard Stern, Joe Rogan, and Opie and Jim all day every day at work. so I always have my headphones on. Only I can hear the ads when they pop up, but it's still annoying. :D
