I think depending on the match up you can start KP at the 5. Bogut was never going to bang down low tonight so you could get away with starting KP at half but Drummond may bully him around on wednesday. Might need to at least start noah and then stagger it the rest of the way.

I HATE his contract, but let's not jump out the window based off 1 game against the Mavs. The Knicks had a positive net rating when Noah was on the court coming into tonight's game...everyone else who got regular rotation minutes had a negative rating. Lineups with KP at the 5 had the WORST defensive efficiency in the NBA coming into this game. The lineup played well tonight, but we need to see this happen consistently.

It's matchup dependent. Noah needs to start against the prime time post centers. But KP needs to play the 5 more often than he is with melo at the 4. It opens up everything and you saw Melo playing good defense again at the 4.

No doubt, I loved how that lineup to start the 2nd half came and balled out. All I'm saying is that people shouldn't be so quick to rush to conclusions because of 1 game against this Mavs team.

So will KP at 5 Melo at 4 really be viable against other teams? Not all of them until KP is stronger, but it seems like it has to be used more often

we would be really good on offense, like top 5 maybe. The only problem is rebounding and wing depth.

Just having Melo and KP should be enough with the existing players to be a top 10 offense, but they have to all want to play together or nothing good happens.

Melo is excellent when he plays quick release or quick pass and we saw it in the second half. He actually was moving better off the ball plus spotting up.

That would be ideal and then you feature KP on offense, not Melo and let Melo still get close to the same amount of shots just with less usage.

KP is already close to being an automatic 25 points if you run the offense through him instead of Melo and those are usually more efficient points than Melo's production.

Both players can feast if they handle it correctly

Add in Lee or Holiday on the perimeter and some decent penetration and you have enough to score regularly, but when they suck they look terrible so we are still in schizo land as a team

The team has yet to play four good quarters in a single game and I don't think any player has been very good for all four quarters yet. If they can be more consistent and play together then scoring should never be an issue this year

I can't believe you guys are taking credit away from Justin Holiday, who made all the difference. It wasn't the benching of Noah that was the x factor, it was the hounding defense of Holiday that made all the difference. The way he clamped down on Barnes was magnificent. The Mavs are small and not a physical team, this was a great adjustment from Hornacek. Carmelo abused Mathews in the 2nd half. Our guard play was awful tonight, Rose, Jennings and Courtney Lee all had bad nights.

Porzingis was aggressive and I loved the 6 free throws, been wanting him to earn more trips to the line. I liked how active he was in crashing boards, need more of that from him.

I also liked Maurice NDour. He is an active defender and knows how to make quick rotations and close outs.

But man Justin Holiday was awesome

Ugly first half but I liked the way we came together in the 2nd half and got a much needed win
