Buzz words like former MVP/DPOY mean absolutely nothing when clearly they have declined.
Lee is a role player, that is it.
Role players are a dime a dozen.
Me & you don't know what Phil's plans are so stop doing this thing where you make an assumption and present it as a fact. You've been doing it a long time and it's bullsh*t. Stop.
Phil has scouts and people that he confines in and a good guess is he they told him their capabilities on the floor and what they're not capable of doing anymore. Especially Rose with his past injuries. The thought process for a while has been that Phil has wanted to "rebuild" while fighting for the playoffs and it doesn't seem like anything has changed. Just more trade rumors.
I don't believe he'll blow it up, in fact he might add on to the roster because he has made it clear he wants the playoffs.
You are being black and white with your analysis of him being black and white.

He knew Melo wanted to compete and not rebuild. He tried and failed and now he has Rosen do his dirty work. He can easily trade Lee somewhere. Rose he can outright cut if No one wants him. Noah is here for the long haul most likely. LFT? UGH.
IT'S HAPPENING BRO! TANK COMMANDER PMFJB! STEALTH TANK!
That doesn't even make sense.
Sark has consistently been black & white, me saying that he is a fact.
And let me get this straight the one year he signs guys to compete is his last ditch effort and now he's just rebuilding?
That doesn't make sense.
He's actually been trying to compete and rebuild at the same time. The problem is he couldn't get Monroe & his first year he had Tyson, etc.
I feel like Phil wanted to compete as bad as Melo wanted. He had a clean break from Melo but gave him his big contract with a NTC.
That's on no-one but Phil.
You just made my point for me. Thank you. Phil is trying to compete with Melo while he builds for the future. Why? Because he had NOTHING to work with when he got here and Melo wanted to be here. Phil couldn't rebuild with no picks and letting Melo walk for nothing. So he bit the bullet but, he immediately tore down the team....he was trying to change the way we do business and he basically has.
If this doesn't work out...and I said this all summer when I bought in after the trade anger calmed down....he can change direction.
Lee has value. Rose may get us something but, he can be cut. Melo will get us SOMETHING in return. Noah is the only bad contract. We can reset at any time if Melo opts out. Phil knows this. He took minimal risks and has no reason to go even further in the whole JUST to make the playoffs. It isn't like he didn't want the playoffs before he tore it down last time.
It makes too much sense. He leaked the story to see what would happen. Period. Now the door is open. We will know either way real soon. Actions speak louder than words.
