I compare this to Phil breaking up a teenage romance, KP is infatuated with Melo but he can't move Melo so KP has to go. Everyone is at fault here and honestly it might be best for all three to be gone.

Excellent! Go
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

Isiah gave up two lottery picks for Eddy Curry. Nothing will ever top that.

Don´t forget on the Jerome James extension

I wouldn't trade him under ordinary circumstances. But Phil might.

If it were up to me, I would let him develop - and bring in a Brian Cashman / Theo Epstein type to rebuild the franchise. Phil is an elite head coach who has been promoted beyond his level of competence, and who refuses to realize it.

He keeps attempting to coach the team from the President's seat on the sidelines.

Why KP still trains with his bro is beyond me. You're an NBA player, hire real coaches man.

The only guy who's getting bullied at every turn is Hornacek.

Marcus Smart, #3 pick, Lakers pick next year, Jalen Brown

for KP and Kuzmiskis

I think that's about the point where Phil makes the move. Maybe Crowder instead of Brown with an additional pick thrown in? Personally, I'd need the most valuable if their 2018 picks included to make the trade.

yes indeed i agree

this might be Phil's desperation move

trading KP - such a popular player with fans, media, league, players, coaches, etc - for an actual roster and multiple young players to get excited about would do a lot as a hail mary for his popularity

or it could backfire completely of course

Im sure Smart, Jackson, Frank or Monk or Isaac and a pick would make some people happy

itll make most people miserable when they see KP the all star in Boston though

by the way, this whole melo theory is nonsense. even if kp loves melo like that, why the hell would his brother have kp acting like this over melo ? that doesn't make any kind of sense.

I'm sure KP just wants to play the **** game and become great at it... He was put in this politics game, and he really doesn't know how to play it and I don't fault him for that - he wasn't drafted for his politics game.

Knicks/NBA media going to town on Phil, rare display of unity.
