but Melo, George and Westbrook with Adams? Thats fun to watch

Id be happy for him

I can see that...

McDermott, Grant, 2019 protected pick for Melo and Lee?

Agreed. The narrative on him is gonna change as soon as he's moved too. If we're taking bad salary back we need good pieces forward.

3 western conference playoff teams want him. 2 think he's the final piece to be a contender. meanwhile derek rose playing for the minimum. some of you tried to act like they were the same. shame (rings bell) shame.

exactly!!!!!!

this works...send 2018 CHI 2nd round and Kanter to Brooklyn

We take back bookers expiring, ferguson, and abrines.

Ha. That would be glorious. Are you thinking the Nets are having sellers remorse on Lopez?

I mean Kanter is at least a usable piece. He only has 1 more year + a player option. He is an atrocious defender but for the cheap who else is brooklyn going to bring in. Get a decent pick (CHI pick probably will be top 10 in the second round) and get a young center that can score for pretty much nothing.

You're at the right fishing hole but targeting the wrong fish with that bait. Melo needs to go but is still good. Especially if he decides he cares again. Rose is just no good. I don't think I strayed from that during the season. Perhaps in a fit of passion.

That said, you should have added "at high salary" as it looks like a contender is bringing Rose on

Yep this is definitely reasonable. Question is does OKC really want to pay the luxury tax for this team that most likely still can't beat the Warriors? That's what I'm most confused by. They didn't want to for Harden, KD and Westbrook. Remains to be seen if they would do it for this core... Maybe they've realized it's almost impossible to win a title or be truly competitive without paying for it.

OKC has to do whatever they can to keep Westbrook happy because if he goes there franchise is toast. They don't have a 2018 or 2020 1st round pick either.

We have a younger and cheaper Kanter named Willy.

Kanter is miles ahead of WIlly on scoring and on offensive rebounding honestly

I love Willy but Kanter is one of the most efficient scoring bigs in the league

he could be a star if he could defend a chair

He slows down your offense a lot and he's so bad defensively he ends up being a net negative.

Yeah I think Willy at worst becomes below average on defense which is still way ahead of where Kanter is. Kanter is admittedly probably better offensively though. Either way Willy at his contract >>>>> Kanter. But we wouldn't be taking back Kanter because of anything actually having to do with the game of basketball so it's all moot. It's simply to make salaries match. I assume like MP was saying earlier that we would be trying to pawn him off actually.

kanter reminds me of post injury amare. where you see him score with some post moves and you think "oh, he's good" but really he's killing you on the other end.

Could you pick a team with less to give us than the Thunder? Not rhetorical...I'm wondering.

I don't think anything thinks of Kanter as an "asset". But he's younger, has a couple NBA skills (can score and is a great offensive rebounder), and he has one less year than Anderson. So in theory he should be easier to move either to a 3rd team or in the future.

I don't know about you but ferguson is an interesting prospect. More interested in him than a 2020 HOU 1st rounder.

Different players. Kanter plays PF and is much more athletic and a better shooter then Willy is right now.
