Do it whatever it takes to get him in a knicks uniform. Send all of our Dallas picks to move up and include the whole team for Bates if necessary. That dude is the truth.

I will say though, he does look impressive, and he's the one high schooler I've actually gone out of my way to see. I'd wait until we see him in college before saying we should trade everything for him

Nbadraft.net is notoriously known for being wrong tho so that’s a bad example lol

But yes I may be jumping the gun. Based off what I’ve seen and read tho.. he looks like the real deal. This is big for us if he reclassifies.

Yeah Bates does look impressive but he's not quite that same feel that you got when looking at ("generational HS players") guys like Kevin Garnett, Lebron James, Shaq, etc. in HS (and yeah I'm old enough to have actually been alive and fully kicking when both those guys were still playing HS ball). Bates to me is more Penny Hardaway at the same level. The basketball talent without a doubt is there in spades but the true superstar players at that point had just that air of dominance (a man-child level dominance) that IMO Bates hasn't shown...yet. Not that there's anything wrong of course with getting a (healthy) Hardaway (who's career was derailed due to health issues).

Looks like there's no clear cut #TankforX this year. We'll have to pick a guy and cross our fingers...which it usually is but more so now.

Haliburton is still my #1 pick for us... Kid is one of the best all around players in NCAA basketball ... offense and defense..

With this as the case I won’t be surprised if this is the year we actually get the #1 pick.

So pissed at myself for not drafting him. I was debating between him and Little and I just couldn't find the hook with him. Little can still be ok but Sim will take years to recognize.

We have to allot 3 spots lower to which seed we finish at the end of the season, unfortunately.

I think our FO wouldn’t pass on him if he would be available at that range. There would be too much pressure on them not to select the hometown kid.

Am not that high on him but one thing that works for Cole is his aggressiveness as opposed to other guys that we recently selected in that range.

Is he efficient not one bit most young players aren’t, even lamelo and Edwards are inefficient players and they are suppose to be locked in as top 3 picks. but his game is what you look for out of your point guard in today’s NBA.

Nico is the first point guard I’m taking (if the pick is outside the top 3) but if the pick were to be cole I’m not mad at it especially not in this draft.

I’m not against any of lamelo, nico, cole or hailburton though their all easily better than what the Knicks currently have so give me any of them

League is going to rig it so that the Hawks keep the hometown kid.

So since Hawks will finish with a worse record than us I think 3 spot drop is as low as we go.
