And this should officially end the Democratic strategy of trying to turn Republican voters. There were **** Senators that ran ahead of Trump despite clinging to his nuts, enabling his criminal behavior and voting to AQUIT him of an obvious **** crime! The only lesson the Republican Party will learn from this is that next time they need to select a racist, facist, authoritarian prick who isn’t on twitter as much. Democrats need to focus on a turnout game and activating new voters. **** this turning Republicans bull.

Chuck **** Schumer needs to step down as minority leader. I’m not a fan of needlessly **** on Democrats, but he dropped the **** ball big time. He had so many shots at thing and he completely **** the bed. Biden might win but this was not a good result for Democrats. It took the combined force of historic voter turnout, the Republicans publicly speaking out against their own party, tons of money from Bloomberg to narrowly beat Trump. Democrats in the house absolutely under performed. DNC, DCCC, DNSC all need to be fired and cleaned out because they have no **** clue what they’re doing. I remember so many grassroots organizations saying that the DNC needs to invest in communities and put boots on the ground instead instead of just dropping in 2 months before elections. They need to heavily invest in African American and Latino outreach and figure out a strategy to actually reach rural voters or else forever lose the Senate.

This was 99% already baked in. Everything you and Jremi are saying is true, but that needs to start now for 2022, then 2024. The DNC and affiliations just don't know to compete. But neither did the Never Trumpers like the Lincoln Project. They all failed. Maybe, just maybe, if a real ground operation was launched as soon as Biden was clearly going to cinch the nomination, then possibly you could have grabbed enough votes to get a better result, but that ship sailed over half a year ago IMO.

I still think the major takeaway is how Americans are willing to roll with fascism. So there better be operatives who understand how to fight Nazism, because it is here and it is entrenched and it is not going away.

The Never Trumpers were always going to work on the margins, they would have little effect on the house seats if they helped cut down Trumps margins in the suburbs and rural areas then they served their purpose. They can **** off somewhere. The DNC should have been on the ground 4 years ago. Trust me when I tell you there are organizations on key swing states who are already doing the work who just need some money. I was willing to see where the strategy would lead but it seems they just blew record fundraising on consultants and ads instead of investing in outreach to latino and African American communities. For example, people are surprised that Trump did so well with latino voters in Florida but to their credit his campaign has been reaching out and courting them for the past 4 years. They invested in advertising, had boots on the ground and ran candidates that offered zero substance but were well known in their communities.

And your point is right, you can’t reason with Nazis so you have to depend on activating voters and new voters. Obama was the EXCEPTION that was able to turn Ohio, Iowa and Florida blue not the rule. This **** was literally carrying the whole party on his back. 2020 was even MORE PARTISAN after covid, 230000 dead, impeachment, tanking economy and the President of the United States being **** sued for RAPE.

Without a dem majority Senate, or at least 50-50, Biden won't be able to get much accomplished because anything generated in the House will languish in the Senate as long as McConnell is there to obstruct and block. The pressure needs to be kept on both dems and reps to get things done for the people.

This wasn't a blue wave... it was an incremental shift ever so slightly with the major change at the top, yes, is more than just a symbolic change but the impact has to be felt with the voters or we will find ourselves with an even worse yet more presentable version of right wing fascism in 2024 coming out of the GOP.

If it's a 50-50 tie, then we win because the VP breaks the tie. So long as we enact by either reconciliation or 51 majority, we're good to go.

Would have been a blue wave if it’d been a better candidate.

What’s the feeling on the streets around where you guys are all based? Commotion from protests or generally calm?

According to HuffPost.com, Biden is at 264 with Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and NC left. This means that Trump has to run the table to win.

Also can’t overlook the moderate GOP senators that can refocus on their state constituents and not just overall party politics.

Calm as any other night on the upper west side although there appear to be some protest marches to "count every vote" in midtown, saw that on TV while I was getting pizza. looks pretty tame and peaceful

Calm here on Long Island. Took a nice long walk on the trail at Wantagh State Park along the Great South Bay. Just a beautiful day. Went to the doctor for my physical. My EKG says I have the heart of a marathon runner ... which I took as bad news because it always seems like they go first.

I'm kind of surprised that Gunnigle(D) won Maricopa County Attorney in AZ. This is so impactful because it also coincides with Sheriff Penzone(D) re-election and the cannabis legalization both by huge margins along with now both Senate seats filled by Dems which could signal a new direction in overall social issues of a long time conservative state.
