Idk why I’ve got this in my head but I feel like Hanlan’s off the dribble program is going to take another offseason to kick in for RJ. The off-season was much shorter this time around and he had to spend time with team Canada too. Which is why I was actually kinda glad they didn’t make the olympics for RJ to have more weeks with Drew. So I think he’ll take more of those shots this season but be below average on them. RJ’s growth this season will be from his finishing and playmaking.

This is an excellent point and something to consider about all young players, so RJ, but also Obi and IQ.
Knox just sucks, so no point speculating.

Thoughts on opening games from few rookie PG I watched:

Mitchell did his thing defensively , nothing flashy offensively but did what i expected

Suggs just doesn't run like a ball player... i know it sounds weird but he dribbles straight up and it annoys me :lol:

he got his pocket picked a few times by Smart, so maybe that will help him going forward, but he looked passive instead of going for his own shot and he looked out of sorts. Needs to be aggressive. Defense was A+ overall. He'll be All-Defense a few times in his career

Thank God we didn't trade up for Cooper. Kid is going to be a career average back up at best unless he can learn to create his own shot. Go under every screen.

Jared Butler is a bucket. Through and through.

Giddey can really finish around the rim. Very impressed by that. Defense is what i expected but his shot looked fine.

Nice numbers, but the real story is his impact dwindled as the ATL series progressed. What’s good about it though is we should be able to keep him fresh for the playoffs this time.
