The problem with OG is dealing with Gollum. He's gonna ask for the moon. Otherwise, it's a good idea.

I don't see Towns as better than Randle at this point. Randle plays every game. Towns is a name - but he is injury-prone, suspect on defense, and has a horrible contract.

In theory he is more a needle mover and better fit in this offense with Brunson. Especially if the trade nets both Reid and Towns. The lineup would be much better structured.

Smaller possibility but it could be RJ as rhe centerpiece instead too.

If they trade for Towns it’s to pair him with Randle. The question is whether Towns offense is worth the defensive downgrade.

I doubt that. Towns is a legit 3 point shooter and stretch 5 that opens the floor up bigtime for Randle's game down low. When Randle is singled his production metrics are elite. He struggles in traffic esp in the playoffs.

You can either keep Mitchell Robinson as a defensive backup for Towns or trade 4 Naz who is a rugged defender himself and can also give quality back up 4 minutes to Randle.

RJ to me never will become a high enough level shooter to be a decent floor spacer. Teams in the playoffs will simply sag off him and then clog the lane for Randle , Brunson etc. because our lack of floor spacers who can shoot and basically dare RJ to shoot (just like Miami did). Now If you think he does become a legit floor spacing guy then yes I would agree with you.

It's hard to believe Wolves will trade Towns and Reid to make their frontcourt weak by pairing Gobert and Mitch.

He's over 30% from 3 for his career, which is serviceable for a big. Dude can play PF. We need 15 minutes per game.

Small sample. He shoots only 2 3s each game (21 minutes). Besides playing small ball center, he gets a lot of open looks being defended by slow centers.

Everyone's gonna be asking for the moon. The money is getting really insane. I can't even keep up with these max deals and supermax deals. It's amazing to me that 19mil per can rot on a bench these days. 40+ mil per to not even play half the contract. It's lunacy.

It's all relative to the cap. Amar'e made over a third of the salary cap with the Knicks. He rarely played and when he did he was a liability. Bargs made about a fifth of the salary cap.

Their 2013-14 salaries adjusted to the 2023-23 salary cap would be:

Amar'e $50.3 million
Bargs $27.5 million
