We have what, like 7 #1s? Trading one of them is not exactly trading away the future. Moving Grimes for Murray and Donte to the 2nd unit is not a bad move if we're really going for it.

I certainly agree with you. The Knicks are not about keeping their picks and I feel the organization is not in a position to develop young players. They want to make a run at a championship this season.

Thibs runs a small rotation so

Brunson/Murray
DDV/Hart/McBride
OG/Hart
JR/Hart
iHart/Precious

Would be an ideal rotation for Thibs to run in the playoffs.

Literally the worst rotation ever.

He's not going to break down defenses from a standstill very often, but he does motor and penetrate. Tonight he pushed the ball a few times and took it to the rack. One score was sweet and converted against several defenders at the highest degree of difficulty.

We don't know yet how much he can create. He's just getting used to regular minutes and he has already shown more moves than before.

That is definitely not trading away the future and a deal you do. That would be a steal.

Even if it goes the way of the Hawks where they are productive, but it doesn't mesh, a healthy Murray is someone you can trade (or whomever to make it work).

We would be lucky to get that type of trade done.

Trades? We don’t need no stinking trades.

Sarcasm

No, not if we’re talking about a backup PG. Flynn also looked good. I’m not giving up a first round pick and a young piece for Brogdan who could easily go down with an injury when we have Deuce/Flynn to play backup minutes.

Who exactly do you expect to trade for?

Granted they did not play a good team, but Flynn looked decent. Play him against better teams to find out more.

All he needs to be is a Beverley type for us to get really good value. We're going to get another high-usage all star (if the plans goes well). That gives us Brunson, Randle and All-Star C to carry the load. Everyone else needs to be a role player. However, the reason why we're not happy is that it sucks in the short-term when someone like Brunson is out. It would be nice to get another bench scorer, but that's it. Someone like Hayward if he gets bought out.

iHart...what more can be said other than pay the man.

Randle seems to get his but it's excruciating to watch him do it.

OG still hasn't had a negative plus/minus game in a Knicks uni yet, he's up to something like +133 in the 7 games and just fills the boxscore with stuff, he's a superglue guy.

Poor Divo dragging his 3pt% down, sure 4ast and 4stl but his crown jewel is the 3ball shooting.

Flynn looked good for the 9 mins he was in there and had a lil ragu to his presence on the court.

Thibs for as annoying as he is with some things just seems to get the team to play hard every night and that is something to appreciate since the Knicks haven't always had that.

Knicks should have beat this team missing as many guys as they were and did in ugly fashion but the 2nd night of a back to back on the road is nothing to scoff at, they got it done.

2nd night of a back to back? Huh?

Good McBride game, but don’t like him running the offense.
Randle played like he had ankle weights on again.
I-Hart had a good game as did Flynn.
Glad Brunson got some rest.

No one in their right mind should have enjoyed that game. We should beat a team like that by 30 points.

McBride is not a PG at this point in his development (as you pointed out earlier in the evening). I hate to say it but he just can't get into the lane and create opportunities for his teammates. IQ couldn't as rookie or a even a 2nd year player. But he got better. Maybe Deuce will continue to improve. He should go to school on Brunson's footwork.

No Brunson and an away game, I wouldn't say 30. Maybe 15.

Agree with you on the ugly game though. Randle is who he is. Maybe he needs Brunson on the court to look good. He'll be the #2 guy on offense with Brunson #1, but when he tries to be the #1 he tries to do too much.

Wait a second — people saying Deuce isn’t a penetrator

True but that’s not really how the league is now anyway

PGs don’t initiate offenses like that widespread (Flynn appears that kind of PG)

IQ isn’t a penetrator. Deuce the better defender and doesn’t overuse his dribble

He’s obv been working on his shot, let him roll and don’t trade him !

You must have been watching a different game than me. He shot well from three / the outside. But he was not able to initiate the offense against a very bad team.

Mitch better be backup when he comes back. Mitch can’t be a starte. Hart deserves the position right now.

I'm gonna have to watch the replay because I couldn't really focus on the game tonight. I saw a lot of garbage in the first half. Pure trash actually. Randle SUCKS as the #1 option. Looks like #2 out there!!

I'll take the W but, U G L Y YOU AIN'T GOT NO ALIBI!!!

OG had a spotty offensive night but without him it’s an L, and he still had 18

We possibly do have a special defensive team with JH IH OG DM but then there’s JR lol

I was confused because last night there were NO local sports teams playing at all. Can't remember the last time that happened without it being a holiday. On a Friday night no less. Knicks/Nets/Isles/Rangers/Devils ALL had the night off.

We're going to need Brunson to get by Orlando on Monday. Or we're going to need superior performances from everyone else.

Return to New York Knicks
