they have too many volume scorers.
Spo runs a ton of sets which means a lot of 2-3 man game and a lot of designed shots for specific players. to me its not a huge surprise they had the most success last year while Herro was out because they were able to maximize efficiency out of bam-butler usage while sprinkling in sets for Duncan. everyone else was a spot up shooter and waiting for kickout to dribble drive. think about how many corner threes Strus and Vincent took off bam or butler usage. a lot.
it sounds crazy but maybe Riley and spo had it wrong the entire time and a high usage guard was not their missing piece but rather a Markkanen/porzingis type of player that has 0 assists and just catch and shoots off bam and butler usage.

his problem is that he doesnt trust the end of the bench to replace those who arent available from the top

I really think we are a true contender right now if we can get everyone healthy for the playoffs. Maybe one more player can help us get over the hump. Maybe we can do it as is. I fully trust the FO to make the right decisions moving forward. This team could be as close as we have been since 1994! I have to contain myself but, it just feels right!!
