Brunson has issues hitting the big when they set screens for him and he’s never been big on drive and kick plays. He's going to have to level up his playmaking but I don’t think that’s really why we lost.

Their bigs played great defensive games and guarded the perimeter really well. Tough to run any screen actions when they just switch everything and you can’t exploit this mismatches. We were able to do it a decent amount in the middle quarters but those bench minutes at the end of the 3rd killed our momentum. Then Garland got hot and we couldn’t keep up. Tough loss and they need to be a lot better.

We're 28th in the league in three point attempts, and this game may drop us to 29th. We were 9-28 from three, they were 12-35, that is the game right there. You don't build a team with a floor spacing C, and then just not take threes. This is bad coaching on offense, because we're taking less threes this season despite who is on the team, we're running offense like a team that shouldn't be shooting threes.

Right. It felt like we lost this in the game plan. That's more frustrating than the Celtics loss, which was just a great team rolling.

The defense held up, we even outrebounded them, but the shot profile through these first three games is all wrong and needs to change.


Also, Tom has to adjust when teams flat out stop guarding Hart like Mobley did in the 2nd half, when Hart was in the corner Mobley would slide over and help on the ball, while Allen could cover his man and the corner because we had our bigs in the dunkers spot. They got to play a zone and stopped the post ups that were killing them early on, and he didn't adjust to that at all.

Is there anything else you desperately wanna get off your chest before this turns around in a few weeks? I swear it’s like you’re waiting for this **** and were upset you couldn’t say it vs Indiana. This team will go through ups and downs before they truly figure out and even so, they should’ve won this game with Brunson going 8-24.

Getting coaches who’ve lost their passion and creativity has been a long problem. Thibs should not treat this as if he’s a distant manager. Coach. Who cares if JB hates you. Re-grow a set. I know he has an occasional bad game but that’s why PGs are tricky as your best scorers. JB has to move the ball and be clever. Driving into set defenders can’t happen.

Brunson commanded the second most doubles in the league last season. He just always starts the season slow.

He's reliant on isolation scorers, there should be more sets where Bridges works on running PnR with KAT, sets where KAT is in the hub passer like Ihart was, and when teams don't guard Josh get him in the PnR with Brunson and use him on dives like the Warriors use Draymond. The lack of imagination on offense has been gross.
