It's beyond me the Knicks couldn't pick apart their defense to get open looks.

Team still learning how to maximize their talent. Mikal is out of sync and sort of a weak link for us right now. Our margin for error defensively is still very small despite having "wingstop" and we are operating well below that margin tight now Basically we are the Sacramento Kings east. Meaning we can win on offens bute we can just as easily lose on defense.

Mikal has to be better
Precious has to come back
Mitch has to come back
Shamut has to come back

Thibs has to be less rigid and open up the bench...

I think Well be ok ...but until the above happens we are what we are.

I don't necessarily like to default to coaching, and he did an excellent job the last two seasons, but this loss falls primarily at the feet of Thibs.

This was one of his worst coached games since the 2021-22 season.

Another year having bench players Thibs don’t trust. I’m starting to lean being on the side of Donte. Asked to put your body on the line only after it took Thibs forever to trust you only after making trades and injuries. Then trade you immediately.

Not that it matters, there is no smoke between DDV and Thibs.

Beyond Tom, Mikal has been wildly disappointing, if you're going to get killed on defense at least be an offensive threat. But he's not even that, he's been dreadful and all those middies he takes are because he cannot make threes with any sort of consistency right now.

I agree..he also in a rotation where he plays about 14-15 straight minutes from 1st qtr to 2nd qtr and 3rd qtr to 4th qtr.

It is really tough to chase around POA defense that long.

Now he still needs to play a lot better...maybe try taking him off the ball a bit.

Or just swithc the screen...he and towns certainly aren't on the same page.

the good thing its not just "this" year. Everyone is under contract.

Still plenty of time to figure it out. Sure is frustrating because we should be winning some of these games.

I think its way too early to be having those convos.

Nothing we do in the regular season matters anyway. We could win 60 games and if we do get to conference finals at minimum it would be all for not.

Which is why the Knicks won’t fire him….yet.

Because all of it is contingent on the playoffs and Thibs knows this.

As long as the Knicks aren’t mathematically eliminated you’re gonna see Thibs do whatever he wants and tinker around.

With that said, Thibs will help you get ready for the tournament but won’t get you to the championship. Up to the organization to do with that information.

pacers are down 3 rotation players right now and still played a full bench.

when we lose a player thibs just gives more mintues to the starters...he is a good foundation builder but he is way out of his element coaching this style of basketball.

I know it's the g League but TJ Warren was a legit good NBA player. No harm giving him a shot.... We could def use some bench scoring help
