Shoot we can’t ..

No great loss; a 6'4" guard who has not shot 33% or better from 3 the last 3 years and broke 5 rebs/game once in his career.

Shame. Thibs would have found a way to give all of Deuce & Paynes minutes to him

Moody would be a great target instead, but we have nothing to offer.

Potential target with the taxpayer MLE over the summer.

Can’t say the fit is perfect (my dream target with the MLE is Malcom Brogdon) but he’s a real NBA player.

Did the Knicks trade one of their 4 backup centers yet?

Guys like Deni, Deandre Hunter, etc. would be nice to go after this trade deadline but doubt we have what it takes to snag one of those guys. Maybe the front office could find a young 6'8" dude with upside who is not getting burn on his current deep team for whatever reason and try to buy low there. We need a Shamet upgrade who can give us 20-30 mins off the bench backing up our 3-4 guys.

Or you move Hart to the bench. Players like that are on the market though, just look at Houston, San Antonio, GSW… but many are overpaid. Javonte Green is a nice wing on a good contract, but he’s 6’5. Still a huge player. Chicago wants to get rid of Patrick Williams but he’s expensive, like I said, and so far he really sucks. The list isn’t short at all. If Mitch remains out, we need a center more, which is why we won’t have the assets to get a wing.

Maybe we bank on Mitch returning to give us 22 mins and then using Precious/Payne’s combined $10m for the best bench wing we could find. We may have to throw in sweeteners, naturally. It’s worth it though for the right guy. League is wide open.

Precious/Payne combine for a little over $8m. I doubt we make any trades at all.

Payne should play in the playoffs in the games Kolek would suffer the missmatches!

I am all in for Hart to come off the bench for either Achiuwa, Robinson, McBride or Warren

Kolek, Payne, Hart and McBride all push the pace… they would thrive with the second units…

Trade is coming, but for who, I don't know

I'm on Fanspo playing around with their trade machine because RealGm's trade checker has fallen behind with the times

We need a legit back-up wing for Mikal and OG. Also need a back-up point guard that Thibs will trust since Payne doesn't seem to make him happy.

Letting go of Achiuwa would be hard. He might not work alongside Mitch, but he is really great insurance to have.

Sims, Payne, Dadiet are our main trade pieces.

Trading Hukporti and Kolek would be very disappointing.

We're trapped, the team can't move Precious because they don't know if Mitch will be healthy, and they can't move Mitch because nobody is willing to trade for a guy that hasn't played a single second of the season.

We have nothing to trade. Unless I am mistaken, you can't aggregate vet minis over the the first apron. We also only have 14 players signed. We cannot do 2-1 or 3-2 trades. Dollars and players have to match. Precious for whoever would be about it. I doubt they trade away their insurance policy but, you never know. We won't be making any trades unless it's like, Sims for something. Exciting.

yes the knicks can aggregate, teams over the second apron cannot. knicks are only above 1st apron.

We can aggregate salaries but, I thought I read you can't pile vet minis together. Either way we can't do any trades unless we get equal value and players back. We are up against the second apron and only have 14 players.

welcome to the new convoluted CBA, that rule does not apply Dec 15 till trade deadline.

I would trade Jericho Sims and Cameron Payne straight up to New Orleans for Javonte Green and Daniel Theis

They're all making $2 million this season so the trade works

Return to New York Knicks
