This team has 60 win talent but Thibs has them as a 50 win team with his trash coaching.

lets even say that is philosphy...just avoid brunson on ball....then how does the team not know where to rotate.

The defensive scheme simply can't be one pass away open 3...either someone has to rotate and then they have to scramble to get to another guy....but that can't be the defense, can it?

Because at that point you are better off just brusnon on ball and forcing them to take a shot over him.

Struss and Wade were getting wade open shots while the whole goddamn team was collapsing on Garland drives too. Wade was missing, but Struss wasn't.

but who is at fault...so clearly they don't want to switch otherwise mikal would just go to strus

so mikal is recovering to Garland...Brunson is on the other side of the ball so he can't get back to strus...OG didn't even move on either Strus open 3? I would assume OG has to rotate to strus...then hart or Mitch have to rotate to the corner in wade then brunson has to recover a go to mobley I guess?

they just seem so confused...its the end of the year...even if I don't believe in the defensive scheme...why do they look like they don't know where to rotate or when to switch this late in the year?

I had a GIF with OG and Hart literally running into each other chasing Tatum because they didn't know whether to switch or not.

It's always 1 pass, and three against us, you don't even need to get into some complex action. He's still trying to ICE the ball handler in 2025 when the screeners are shooting from 30 feet

Overachieving? We arguably have the most talented starting 5 in the league. At east top 3.

Brunson has taken the air out of OG and Mikal’s games.

It's because everyone was knew their roles by the time Julius was injured. The offense would go through Julius for the 1st three quarters on catch and shoot attempts, and Jalen would be the closer.

This season everyone is deferring to Jalen when KAT should be the #1 option and playing the same role as Julius, then let Jalen be the closer in the 4th quarter.

The vibes heading into the playoffs are just terrible.

This team isn’t even fun to watch. I enjoyed watching the 2021 team more than this year’s squad. This is one of the worst 50 win teams that I’ve seen in my lifetime. Not even hyperbole. They have looked so bad against almost all the top teams. It’s just so infuriating how awful they have looked. It’s always the same **** and zero adjustments from Thibs. He has lost every single ounce of goodwill that he’s built since joining the team.

I think thats the perfect criticism for Thibs

there is no variety in this team...no adjustments being made.

The same things that plagued us in game 1 of the season are still plaguing us in game 81.

Simply poorly coached.

How does a team go up by 23 then lose the game?? At the rate we’re going we might not make it out of the first round. :noway:

We can't do a dual hub and spoke with this offense because KAT isn't really a playmaker in isolation like Randle was. He's a really good stationary passer and he can pass from post positions but once he's in motion towards the rim he's not a threat to pass. He's going to the rim. Hart took that role on for awhile but then became shook about shooting and the defense can sag. If we're going that direction, Mikal is probably the best option but really Brunson (and Kolek) as a table setter for the first three quarters is probably a better vibe with this group.

JB was a lot better and faster last year. He can barely blow by anyone now

Mourning about last season's team is stupid when the "Hart" and soul of the team walked as a free agent.

He took the bag. Deal with it.

Moving forward, the Knicks need to start by getting a new leader. Right now they have none.... Thibs is in over his head.

Because he literally takes the air out of the ball.

I love the guy but I just hate how he hasn’t adjusted his game at all when this team clearly plays better when we’re running, not walking the ball up and literally just beating the 8sec violation every time he brings it up.

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt because he’s proven to be a superstar imo and the game slows down in the playoffs, so maybe it’ll be more effective when it matters most… we’ll see
