that was a good game most of the way through. it was being called pretty fairly on contact, but when we lost our challenge we subsequently got a bunch of calls overturned against us along the way. felt a little oppressive in that regard. still, i don't think this came down to reffing
we lost. this is why i didn't mind starters on the court in the fourth quarter against boston game 6. in this game, we were straight up caught off guard. to be fair no one could expect nesmith to do what he did. but still, we weren't ready for that remote possibility. part of that is on brunson being in foul trouble and re-inserted with plenty of time left for desperate shots from his defensive assignments. part of that is on him being cold with his handles upon returning to the game and spacing out on some decisions. part of that is on og for looking like he wasn't ready for work, kat blowing defensive rotations, missed free throws all around, etc, etc. we failed enough to cough it up
but for most of the game we did enough to win. mikal actually had a really balanced game. brunson was hellbent offensively. kat was tallying up the points we acquired him to add. mitch looked like a force of nature and was winning us the game. deuce was getting it done too
i don't believe that nesmith shooting 100% from 3 and haliburton hitting the reggie suddenly means it's over. i know that we are traumatized but let's see how this series progresses. last night they both came off extended periods of rest. let's see what they look like as that rest shrinks in the rear view
