Well I stand corrected, I haven't seen Bledsoe play that much
The ultimate question is, how is his Defense and is he more of a combo guard than a true point guard?

I recall Bledsoe had 31 8 and 6, and 23 7 and 5 against us last year, of course that was against Rose and the worst defensive team I've ever seen in my life so that's not saying much but he can still light it up on the rare occasion he's healthy

Basically this, if Houston really wants Melo, they will have till the trade deadline to get enough assets to get him. Melo doesn't hurt out tank much, might even help it since he isn't really a team player and with the lack of talent on this team, I can see him destroying chemistry as he wants to win now.

I feel something like that would be a lot easier to get done rather than adding 3rd, 4th, 9th teams to make it work. Keep it simple. I think Houston does this as they are basically like guaranteed contracts for early 2nd round talent.
No.
I think it's better than Mo Harkless, or Eric freakin Bledsoe..
Plus it helps the tank.
First of all, it doesn't work salary wise. Anderson would have to be traded with Gordon or Ariza to work hence a 3rd or 4th team needing to be involved. Second, It helps nothing. You don't trade your best player for a terrible contract and future BS picks. I swear this fanbase has adopted the biggest loser mentality in sports. It is a propetual motion from the organization to the media and right through us. Get the best return possible and settle for nothing!

His nickname is Mini Lebron.
He lives up to it.
And he's still improving. The only downside is he gets hurt a lot.
And he would probably hurt the tank.

Re: Melo Trade Thread "Ice Cube Family movie edition"
Given the turn of events, I'm wondering if Dolan's better move would have been to keep Phil through his contract and have him last through Melo's tenure. Deny a buy out, and reject these horrible trades. Either have Phil squelch his big mouth and allow Melo to improve his tradeability, (enough to garner an ok haul,) or allow Phil to completely kill his trade value by sitting him. Sure the club take a black eye, and it probably deters agents from negotiating with us for the mean time... but if you think about it, if the true intention is to tank, then we might avoid our "signature" signings a la Noah and THJR71. Further, once Melo expires or rejects his player option for greener pastures, Dolan scapegoats Phil, we lay low, develop our rooks, and sign a better inclined GM 1-2 years later. Mere lifetimes from now in terms of the NBA.
Meh... reading this post over, I realize how farfetched it sounds. Even then, it isn't as farfetched as our current reality.

I love Bledsoe but his knees are shot. Bringing him in is Amare all over again.

Re: Melo Trade Thread "Ice Cube Family movie edition"
I been telling y'all for a week now that Bledsoe would fit but Phoenix has every reason to push Knight onto us instead. And here we are...

2024 Bubble Champs
1: Thompson | Nembhard | Smart
2: White | Wallace | Clark
3: Dort | Sharpe | Rupert
4: Wembanyama | Green | Bol
5: Gobert | Drummond | Mamukelashvili

Re: Melo Trade Thread "Ice Cube Family movie edition"
Bledsoe doesn't even make sense. That would mean that Frank would be the unquestionable back up. The point of a "veteran guard" is not to take all of his minutes at the 1.

He would be a placeholder for Frank.
And last year they chose to shut him down for their tank. Not health.

Defense is actually good overall, and he's can be a terror when pressure is called for. He's definitely a true point, but he's so skilled in terms of scoring the ball that he runs more of a combo guard game. His assist rate was ahead of Isaiah, Curry, Lowry, Dragic, Kemba, Lillard, and Kyrie last season.

Re: Melo Trade Thread "Ice Cube Family movie edition"
Frank is too raw to start right away in this hostile environment. Would be fine with timeshare with someone like Bledsoe until he proves he's ready to take the reigns

What the hell! He only has 2 years left and not a terrible contract by the new standards. I would take Bledsoe over Anderson any day.

Lotto protected 2019 pick that turns into two second round picks if not conveyed?
And we give them Kyle?

What's wrong with Frank being a backup that gets 20-25 minutes a night as an 19 year old in the NBA? I honestly don't see any problem with that - in fact it seems almost ideal.

I can live with two years of Bledsoe.
