wouldn't the low turnout of the last presidential election suggest that many are inclined to abstain instead of vote across the aisle?

Or, it's also plausible that they abstained last time, didn't like how it turned out, and will vote this time.

Polling shows Joe Biden has made significant gains with white Americans that lines up with that behavior.

inshallah. lol. i'm just saying i can't believe it until i see it. but word.

Oh, I agree. Nothing matters until the votes are counted.

I think this is the reason you're seeing explicit appeals to moderate Republicans though.

Getting just 4% of them is enough to undue the margin Trump won by in 2016.

That's the exact same amount you got the last time. Now his approval ratings amongst all Republicans is through the roof. IMO maintaining is likely the best you could hope for.

agreed. it's cool to believe he is voting for you as a matter of conscience. it's another to advertise support for and from someone who should not be amplified. you could just as easily not acknowledge it.

not everyone likes or needs to like everyone else who votes alike. something like that.

I dont think people realize that these markers are eventually gonna be called in for all this republican help. So even if he wins there are quite a few potential problems arising.

What difference does it make? Trump won in ‘16 with no campaign ads. And he’s leading in Michigan, a state Joe Biden says he’s not planing to visit.

Biden is up by 7 points in Michigan. Biden also never said that he's not planning to visit Michigan.

This stuff is very easy to look up

But others here are saying that the percentage is the same but the size is much lower bc moderate Republicans have gone “never—Trump”

my issue is not with republican support... it's support from THIS man. our elected officials SHOULD be collaborating and finding points of common ground.

How are the markers going to be called in? I mean, by what mechanism will they leverage any power?

The Dems are not going to rely on moderate Republicans as a voting bloc.

Thats exactly what they're doing at the expense of progressives. Do I think that they have anything to force Biden currently, probably not , will he pay for it 4 years down the line if and when conservatives run a non trump candidate? Almost definitely and he knows this.

Sounds like this would be progressives calling in markers, not Republicans.

If Republicans run, let's say Nikki Haley, I'm not sure how that reflects on this election. Especially since Biden may not even be on the ticket.

Here’s Joe having trouble putting together coherent sentences.

Would you hire Joe Biden to represent you in court in a matter of significance to you?

 After Michael Moore called him out on it. Hey, at Joe is listening.

According to the CNN poll, Biden is up 4 points which is at the margin of error. Also, Biden has lost 50% of his Republican support from June (8% to 4%).

You have no proof that Biden wasn't always planning on visiting Michigan.

According to the CNN poll, Biden is up 4 points which is at the margin of error. Also, Biden has lost 50% of his Republican support from June (8% to 4%).

So a poll showing Biden +4 means Biden is losing?

Also, this poll is across all battleground states, not Michigan specific. Here is a poll from today showing Biden is up 11 in Michigan.

Read on Twitter
?s=20

I guess that means Biden is up 11 now...or it means that one poll is meaningless and there is a reason that trends are measured by the aggregates.

Btw, this CNN poll says that Biden voters are more enthusiastic than Trump voters and less likely to change their mind. I thought that was important to you. Why didn't you mention that?

Overall, 50% of registered voters back the Biden-Harris ticket, while 46% say they support Trump and Pence, right at the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. Among the 72% of voters who say they are either extremely or very enthusiastic about voting this fall, Biden's advantage over Trump widens to 53% to 46%.

Ok, well I was reporting what Moore said so excuse me for not peer-reviewing his research. Even if Moore is wrong, you're gloating about being within the margin of error in Michigan does not sound very encouraging to me, even if it's from all they back on Aug. 15.

As for the part of the poll about enthusiasm, I thought that wasn't important to you. Anyhow, that's contrary to every other poll that shows that Biden's support comes from voters' hatred of Trump, not from their enthusiasm for Biden's policies.

Anyhow, Moore got it right in '16 and he's sounding the alarm now. But you, Mr. Calm Cool and Collected, seem to think it's in the bag. Do you believe that Biden has this locked up? Well, we just have to wait and see, won't we? :D

I hope you liberals know what you're doing.
