Another year of an unbearable starting lineup. I feel legit bad for RJ. The spacing will be worse than it was in Duke.

The 2nd unit does have potential to be a fun group to watch though honestly

Yeah, the team already lacked spacing and two out of three FA signings are non-shooters.

lonzo is gonna cost a 1st. and probably not a dallas one.

lonzo is like a slightly suped up frank. He doesn't run an offense in the half cour.t He is great in transition but is extremly limited in getting into the paint and creating for others. More of a "sytem" guard then a engine. Is that really what we are looking for?

He's an improvement no doubt...but he isn't getting us buckets when we need it so whats the point?

He shot 38% on a high volume of 3s last year, and his shooting % has gone up all 3 years

Plus he's a great theoretical fit next to RJ, and while he's not a downhill guy he's still good out of the PnR for Obi and Mitch

I'm for it depending on the cost.

like I said he is a secondary playmaker, he shot 50% from the free throw line, he can't isolate. He isn't that effective in the half court.

He had a good C&S season (wont deny that)
he is a good defender
he is great in transition.

But he is pretty non existant in the P&R and in half court offense. If it costs a Dal 2023 pick sure...but you and I know it wont cost that. And I'm not tradinrg any one of our 1sts to make it happen.

I would bet on one of Frank or DSJ starting at PG. If they thought Payton proved to be a starter they wouldn't have only given him a 1 year 5 mil deal.

Randle starting will probably be temporary until Toppin gets his footing in the NBA. I would still be hesitant on playing him against starting caliber PFs until he can get some work in. Will be a fun 6th man though.

Should offer Isaiah Thomas a 2 year $10 million deal with a mutual option for year 2. Appears that he's pain free for the first time since his MVP season and ready to go. Sure he's not the same player he used to he but if he's healthy even at 31 he can still make a bigger impact than Payton. If he does well then you can look to being him back next season or deal him at the deadline to a team looking for what he can do. If he doesn't do well then you use him for his vet leadership and backup minutes while he helps your young guards learn what it takes to beat adversity and win games. Thomas shot 41% from 3 this past season starting 37 games for the Wizards.
