Also, some rando on X a few days ago said they ran into Chris Haynes and unsolicited he told him one of the Knicks players wanted out. Insinuated it was Randle. Turns out he was right on the money!

damn randle wanted out..

Yeah, was surprising. I guess it was about the money but I wouldn’t have had a problem signing him.

I would rather have seen Donte at the 2 than Hart at the 3 now.

Would still like to trade for Kessler as a rotational center. Don’t want Towns always at the 5 and OG at the 4 due to injury concerns.

Naz a much better 3 point shooter though

This team has loaded up and is deep at almost every position now. They can play multiple styles offensively AND defensively. They can shoot the 3 ball 1 to 5.

A Knick squad w/o Randle and OG and Mitch was able to go 7 in the 2nd round. Add Bridges and KAT to what they had last year?

We absolutely can match up with anyone if Thibs system is tweaked a bit to maximize the new players. Our D intensity is unmatched now we have depth and more spacing.
This is a formidable squad.

And subtracting a prolific 3 point shooter

McBride is a pretty good one too and better defender. KAT is right there with DD.

I think this trade also opens up more opportunities for OG on the offense which he was seeking. Knicks probably believe he has enough to take care of the 4 position and brings a whole another level of defense to our front court which we lack when Mitch is sidelined half the season.

It also solves all the questions about minutes and ppg for Mikal

The remaining improvement will have to come internally. Like if Deuce makes a jump, at his current contract he’s a steal for the duration of it. That’s the type of incremental improvement they’ll need from the fringes of their roster.

Towns will be better in NY than he was in Minny. Let's remember the point guards he's played with in Minny -- the likes of Ricky Rubio, Derrick Rose (already washed by then), D'Angelo Russell, Pat Beverly, and Mike Conley (also washed by the time he got to Minny). Now, he has Brunson to play off of. Also, except for this past year, he's always been Minny's clear #1 option and the focus of the opponent defense. Now, this is not clearly the case. He will do fine.

Beautiful day today, wouldn't you say?

Not really. I still think Randle is better than KAT. But as I said, if they have our jersey on, I'll cheer. But giving up DD in this deal **** blows. I swear to Christ is JB wasn't given a head's up on this after what he did this Summer, there's a harsh **** storm coming.

Really interested on T-Wolves motivation. And why do this so close to the start of training camp.
Money.

It's not. They had record revenue 2 straight years with this past season very strongly making it 3rd.

Yep, OG at the 3 and Mikal at the 2 will help their health out. Same with Towns at the 4.
I’d like to get Kessler as our starting 5, at least at times.
I don’t really want Hart starting, though I love the guy. I prefer length even though he defends well.

I say another good trade is coming, just not soon.

Dang. Guess Leon really is running the FO and not Dolan or Thibs. Don't matter who they like. Leon is the don.

They were shopping Randle to Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, and ultimately the Wolves....but not a single rumor leaked til he was gone.

This front office is unpredictable, but they get the job done.

At least we did Randle solid. Probably the best team he’s been on in his career (would’ve been this current Knicks team)

The OG offense thing was a report put out from a hack writer who took Nurse's quote in their Raptors days and spun it around with said quote somehow coming with OG in NY. OG -- while wearing a Knicks jersey -- never said anything about wanting the ball more. And the specific thing with OG and Nurse was along the lines was OG saying "I want to help more on offense", in which Nurse basically said, "Yeah, I'll run more plays for you, but you gotta work for it, too". The End. OG was never disgruntled or dissatisfied.

FrozenEnvelope wrote:Awful trade.

I get why it was done (better lineup against Boston) but I don't like it. Randle is better than KAT and DVo is our best shooter.

And KAT is hella soft. He's going to frustrate us a lot with his meak personality and shyness for physical play. He was better at this last season but playing in NYC with this media and these fans is way more challenging. He is from here and he somewhat grew up in a NYK household that watched the 90s so he knows what is expected. There is also his relationship with Thibs. KAT is older and more mature now, so his Thibs, so hopefully they find a common ground.

Sad to see Randle go. He was a pillar here and should be remembered in a positive light. He came here when KD and Kyrie were too scared too. He made All-Star teams and helped lead this franchise to the playoffs at a time where it seemed impossible. There were bad and frustrating moments but overall, Randle was a good Knick. And such a great role model as a father and family man. I will miss him.

DVo wasn't here long but he gave us one of the iconic moments in NYK history against Philly. He broke the 3pt record too. He will be missed. Fun player to watch and root for.

Randle is not better than KAT
