Haliburton isn’t a superstar, paid like one, but he isn’t.

The downside of an egalitarian offense is you have nobody who can take over a game.

I don’t think Knicks fans are in position to say that…

I can see the Boston culture loving someone like J Most. But Jeannie is very image conscious. Maybe that's part of it. Also, maybe here and there a competent announcer works his way up to calling games and the front office actually realizes he's good.

It's just sickening how ESPN/ABC have devolved into some of the most useless, self indulgent talking heads who look only to increase their personal ratings and salary. My ESPN faves are of course Breen and Perkins. There's a big drop off that leads to the depths inhabited by SAS and others.

Chick Hearn was from the epoch of Jerry Buss and the show-time Lakers. They didn't need to punch down and magnonimity was the default. But I get the idea. Followill is from the epoch of Cuban. And for whatever one might think about him, his persona is/was as a straight-talker. Ok, so that would align with allowing Followill to call games straight.

You're not wrong about Chick Hearn in general, but he predated the Buss era. I think he started when the team moved from Minneapolis to LA in 1960 or shortly after. He was calling games with Elgin Baylor and Jerry West playing, long before the Showtime era. Jack Kent Cooke was the owner of the 60s and 70s.

Absolutely. Wikipedia says he started calling Lakers games in March 1961.

Probably not since the first game we played OKC this season and we ran one of the best looking motion offense I’ve seen for 24 mins of the game

The Knicks scored on backcuts plenty of times this year.

Thibs needed to go but let's try and keep it truthful.

The offense needed more motion and cutting, but between Thibs, KAT and the Villanova guys, there was a decent amount of cutting.

Could there be more? More movement? Better plays? More 3s? Sure. But people are starting to act like the Knicks played 4 corners

This is the nba finals. ECF is old news, and Haliburton wasn’t the ECF mvp. So what’s your point?

Looking at the Boxscore, SGA 36 minutes, Hali 34. Siakam only 30, iHart just 22.

No double doubles in the game, SGA came closest with 8 assists, Siakam with 7 rebounds.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

SGA is incredible on offense then he has all these defensive henchman to protect him and do the dirty work it's almost not fair. You got to get to him somehow.

I just want Pacers to win so I don't have to hear how great this OKC team is. They literally went 7 games against Nuggets with compromised Gordon, MPJ, Westbrook and the rest was Payton Watson, Zeke Naji and **** Strawberry.

They are not that good at all.

Would you rather hear that or hear about Tyrese Halliburton being one of the all time greats now

Yes. The conversation for Hali is if he is an all star despite having a historical clutch playoff run. So its more bearable than SGA being the next Kobe.

What, no ew. If Hali wins, it's not gonna be if he's an all-star, it's gonna be if he's one of the all time great point guards. No thanks. I'll take SGA the talk, who is actually a superstar.

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the first two games. I'm hoping to see OKC in 5 or 6. Indy has earned my respect but I still want them to lose.

I love the defense OKC plays with even if their offense is junk at at times. SGA is a great player, man.

I mean, they have 2 other guys who took over games against us: Nesmith and Siakam. nembhard took over game 1. That's actually their best weapon.

Banking on them getting hot. Indians doesn’t have a clear number #1 option. They’re like the offensive version of the ‘04 Pistons. If they were an elite defensive team, having a legit scoring threat wouldn’t matter as much.

Nembhard has to use most of energy guarding SGA. Like I said before, they should move Nesmith on SGA so Nembhard can give more on the offensive end.

Just think about it, if Hali wins it averaging 15-18 or whatever he is right now, he will be in the conversation with Kidd, Nash, Stockton etc. This is one big if, because right now he is not getting any love from media. And this conversation is completely fair tbh.

SGA is already compared to some Kobe and MJ seasons which is beyond absurd.

p.s. strictly talking about media, not the average fan. The average fan imo is surprisingly rating SGA fair.
