i mean beggars can't be choosers...LeBron seems like he doesn't want to be there anymore...if they can get any trade value for him that would be good for the Lakers if they truly want to move on with the Luka-Lakers.

i think they would rather just have the cap room unless you're giving them a star back. they seem willing to punt on this year for that reason.

LeBron will play a factor in this...he's too big of a name for them to say sorry Lebron we are just going to punt the season whether you like it or not and even if a reasonable trade comes on our desk unless we get the perfect trade with all expiring's you have to stay as well...that probably wont go over well.
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie

Lakers should do that trade and then flip Gafford and PJ for whatever picks they could get. Then flip Klay as well to a playoff team for salary relief (maybe costing some 2nd's?). Get Luka a legit 2nd banana next off-season and you now have plenty of picks and cap space to build a Luka squad long-term. I'd even flip Reeves for picks since he's not a defender type that you'd want around Luka.

They aren't punting the season. They just don't gaf about LeBron anymore. He's about to be yesterday's news when he retires next year. They may hope to get something in a trade but, who can afford him that makes any sense? Lace up and play. Luka/LeBron should be able to make noise one more year. They are still a playoff team.

If they're serious about moving on, they may end up waiving him.

they kind of are. they let dorian finney smith walk for the same reason. they want cap space so they can rebuild around luka from scratch.

I mean as much as I love him, Luka is not Giannis. How yall so sure he is going to commit if not happy? I mean even Lakers probably wondering if he really wants to be there.

And yes, they would have given AD for Luka even if they knew the latter is going to leave 100%. AD is washed and they can still get a ton for Doncic.

Maybe DFS wanted out. Not that that matters they just aren't looking to bring in players to make LeBron happy anymore. They aren't looking to extend him. They are moving on. That doesn't mean they don't wanna compete this year. You think they are gonna pay him to go away and play elsewhere?

I just watched this.

This is very disturbing. There wasn't much conjecture presented here, just fact finding.

I dunno. I'm starting to think that organized crime has already sunk their teeth in the NBA and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

It also sucks because now it's public knowledge that at least 3 members of the fanbase are actively involved in this. Not because these guys are Knicks fans but because I don't know who these guys know on the team. It looks like 3 NBA players have gotten caught up. That might be a generous number

Basically, a really shady guy with business holdings in the city and no moral compass (he robbed a homeless woman of 80k after a settlement with the city after she lost her legs in a subway incident) was caught up in the Jontay Porter sting.

His family member is an idiot who not only ran crypto and betting scams on Twitter and Discord, but he basically dry snitched on social media when he revealed winnings from a prop bet made by said shady guy on Jontay Porter.

He then went on Twitter and said that both Terry Rozier and Malik Beasley will be the next players to get popped. It happened. How did he know that information? Is his relative cooperating with the feds and is implicating others?

Pablo Torre and his team went through all of their digital footprints and connected them all together and apparently the Porter case is now being expanded by the feds.

All of this sounds really dirty. If anyone on here is related to these guys, don't get mad at me I'm just making a summary of what is happening. Your cousin or homeboy just ratted out your entire ops to a social media journalist

PTFO had been the best sports podcast for quite a while now. Even the random musings episodes are quality. He used legitimate, elite investigative journalism skills, but applies it to everything from fantasy football amongst death row inmates, famous sports cards that have never been pulled (the missing Jordan), soccer players who have been disappeared by the US government, and the latest bombshell being the exposure of collision between NFLPA leadership and the NFL owners that has currently got the entire union outraged and on fire.

I posted it when it was released a few months ago, but it's also the same podcast that somehow dug up the Knicks embarrassing LeBron recruitment video.

Pablo has been on a mission to embarass the Knicks since they refused to match Houston's contract for Jeremey Lin.

Cant watch this right now but will fire it up when I have the time. Pablo is a talented journalist and this topic interest me a lot.

Corruption and tainting the sport was inevitable with mixing gambling and human nature. It won't stop but I would be stoked if they nuked it. They'll try to continue to punish the players with no accountability on their own part. Adam Silver and those that orchestrated this mess are the real criminals here. But the players that fell for it are going to be villianized.

What im trying to say is death to the bourgeoisie!
